Bedlam
Re: Bedlam
Hmmm as you all may know i have been working ALOT lately...(trying to stay off the layoff list by working ALOT extra)
Before i got sent to crazy work hours land I had finished 2 gems locked them down in my house. they are fine still there.
Since then I have been jumping in grabbing a few peices before i need to sleep/eat etc. and put them in boxes in my house.
Well I know i had all the peices for Bedlam/Prism and Parox. only one i had left was Laby which I need all but The horn. But if you look at the boxes most peices are gone. I diddnt notice this until I went looking for peices for a friend this weekend. Kinda stinks alot of work invested in those peices .....

If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well.
Re: Bedlam
Took me two hours to get the crypt key yesterday and I stayed 12 hours in the crypt for no drop. 2 hours again today to get in and 3 malachai laters, still no drop. I think you can see how well a dungeon is designed by the number of players there who really like a challenge. I have been in the crypt for 15 hours and I have yet to see one player in it. Many players as me an Haraback are up for any challenge. Harder the challenge, more high are the chances to see us there. But having to spend two hours to get in a place where the monster you want to fight only spawns once an hour, sometimes even less, that is just plain lame. I know that the answer will be: "it's designed to be hard, the reward is so grande". The problem is NOT that it's hard, the problem is that it is LAME. I would love to see Ortov, Skrat, Malachai, Egiptski and monsterous Grizzle spawn time being decreased drasticly, even if that meant making them 10 times harder to kill. At least I would have something to do, instead of waiting there one hour like a morron. If the objective was to chase away all players from the crypt, well congradulation, this is a success.+Rayne wrote:The quest is optional, meaning that you do not have to go to Bedlam for the quest if you do not want to.
You cant travel throughout all bedlam, unless you want to spend an other two hours hoping that the mage will drop the key. It would be a wonderfull idea to make that key last for a day before it decays, instead of the 5 minutes it actually lasts.+Rayne wrote:It is meant to be difficult. One may go work in one section, then switch and go to another. You can travel throughout the inside of Bedlam, in all sections for days.
Sorry for bringing this topic back, but I have alot of time to spend while I am waiting for malachai to respawn.

Hahahaha. Now that was funny.fingers wrote: Sorry for bringing this topic back, but I have alot of time to spend while I am waiting for malachai to respawn.

Cool, glad some people got the original point of my posts in this thread.
And I agree with you completely, ridiculously low drop/spawn rates don't make something hard, it makes it not worth doing.

Re: Bedlam
And I have 2 dead mice left out of 24+, while having used none of them.
Re: Bedlam
Have you got them for more then one month? Because wiki says that they do get deleted one month later. I never got trouble with the gems though, they dont seem to decay. So I'd say it's better to get all the keys to secure a gem rather than collecting multiples of the same key and see them decay;-)
Re: Bedlam
If you read earlier in this thread I asked if the decays were removed. I was informed yes, they were.
And the largest portion of the wiki is done by players, I've added plenty of stuff myself.

Ah, ok! I read it, but it was long ago, and my memory is not prime, especiallywith a few beers in:-)Harabakc wrote:If you read earlier in this thread I asked if the decays were removed. I was informed yes, they were.

Re: Bedlam
After this week it appears none of the decays were removed.

Re: Bedlam
Ok. My turn to chime in here. I've been in Bedlam since Friday, May 8th. Today is Monday the 11th. I have had time to train Ninja, Bushido, Magic Resist and Inscription all to 120, Forensic Evaluation to GM, Fencing up to 113.8 (gains stopped) and train begging up to 57.9 so far. I've lost count of how many times I've killed Malachai and still have not pulled a Jade Amulet. It took me 6 hours to get the key to the crypts in the first place. My thoughts on this matter are if you are going to make the item all but impossible to get, then why make the dungeon so hard to get into? If I could come and go more freely, then maybe I wouldn't have such a case of the red ass right now. Taking 6 hours to get into the dungeon is just plain rediculous. Spending 4 days waiting for the spawn and not getting a drop is downright stupid. Not to mention the other players that are waiting for the same drop. Surely you can come up with a better plan other than what is in place now.

Re: Bedlam
Sigh
the drop rate was supposidly "increased a slight bit" on the crypt key my sympothy for those trying to enter the crypt i think ill just sell my last gem of completion and start sitting in town more than anything else

Re: Bedlam
The crypt key seems to be about a 25% chance of drop to me. Which is a load better than what it was when I started this round of this god forsaken quest. If this was the first dungeon of my first quest and I hit this wall... I would have abandoned the quest and never tried it again. Uber the items may be in the staff's eyes, but if I hadn't invested so much time already, it sure as hell wouldn't be in my eyes. What is the drop rate now for the jade amulet? Once a week like the nobles? I can now add parry to the 120 list and will soon be able to add begging to the gm list of skills trained in the crypts awaiting the drop. Absolutely rediculous. Especially, based on previous completions on the quest, as it wasn't that way before. Nice of staff to misthink a quest long enough to let a few get rich off it, then change it to prevent others from even completing it, much less make any money off it. Way to go!

Re: Bedlam
That's a risk I'm willing to accept. I hope all other players looking to complete this quest will read these posts and realize what rediculous odds they face getting this single piece needed for the completion of it. Again I say. If this was the first gem I was going after, my desire for completing this quest would have ended here as it's nigh on impossible to get this item drop. When Rayne said she planned on the quest taking at least a month to complete, I didn't realize she meant for this one piece of it.
