Excelsior

On every shard I have played on that has the [grab or [claim function they also have loot bags.
What happens is when you claim a corpse everything goes into the loot bag so it is not covering all of your main backpack.
I hate my backpack being a mess and sometimes standing there manually looting something is not an option

on osi there wasnt a [claim or grab or anything close to it, sometimes accepting the nicety's as they are and dealing with the suttle time comsumption of organization is just a inconvienience but shouldnt be a major issue for anying,

further more, utilitys like razor allow you to (some time to setup) pick and choose where you want things in a organizer agent.
utilitys like UOE (easy uo) can do this a little slower but actually put them ezactly where you want them in a bag all nice and neat

yeah on my old shard we had that type of bag but its really not a big deal if we dont have it here. regardless, you have to organize all the junk no matter where it lands.

I would very much like to see a loot bag added as well. My main pack is always a mess and I never use the claim all command.

Frankly... the point of a "loot bag" is well.. thoughtful but hardly necessary.

As Black Death pointed out, it doesn't matter whether you have a "loot bag" or not, you will still end up sorting through endless mounds of junk.

The thing is, [claim is already edited to grab enough items to ease the burden, but not so much that it still requires some measure of physical looting. I for one enjoy double clicking a corpse hoping to see some sort of "sweet" drop off something.

Having the command simply grab everything you're too lazy to move your wrist a fraction of an inch (combined with 2 clicks), is just sad.

If you can take the time to download Excelsior along with it's extra patching; then you can certainly take the time to download Razor and make use of it's many functions.

My post wasn't directed at anyone in particular, either. I was making a point that asking Colibri to keep making things easier, is pointless. Staff has already made starting out on Excelsior an easy process, what more do you need?

-You can afk train your skills to 75.
-You are able to obtain 80-120 organics every 90 minutes or so (which sell for a great price).
-You receive tokens for disposing of trash.
-They added a few extra necessities to [claim.

plus many more...

No, we are not talking about starting out in Excelsior, but the point I am trying to get across is that things are already pretty manageable and straightforward.. I'm not disrespecting the idea, as it IS a good idea and have seen this implemented on different shards. I just don't think that Colibri needs to keep making things easier.

I think actually having to put a little bit of work into your game play is much better than macroing your way through everything.

That's not the point. The point is that you commented on another player's post, calling it "rude" and "uncalled" for, yet you make rude and unnecessary statements here. It is was it is. No one is trolling. I read all of the current posts on the main page. If you call someone else out for something, be prepared to be held accountable to the same standards. Equating the interest in having this bag to being lazy is not only an invalid statement but unnecessary.

I've used the bag before, and it's handy but it's by no means is a "lazy mans" feature. It's an organizational feature and it's a nice thing, especially for those who don't wrap their UO around Razor. Razor has many features, but for those who don't like to bother with many of them, it's nice to have an organizational item in the game. I've lived with it and I have obviously lived without it, so it's really not trivial, but it's unwarranted for the general population to be referred to as 'lazy' for finding interest in it.

I'd appreciate it if you didn't compare my post to that of Vythica's direct, irrelevant, and completely disrespectful reply to Black Death's post. There is absolutely NO need to make snide remarks regarding someone's punctuation, whether it be excessive or a lack thereof. My post was merely stating a few obvious facts. First off, most, if not nearly all, members of Excelsior need to use Razor to even connect. ConnectUO wasn't even released again, up until a few days ago. Before that. it didn't even work... period. UOGateway has been down for more than a year.. leaving one real option.. Razor.

As I stated before.. there is no reason why Colibri needs to edit the [claim script just to cater to those who can't take a few seconds out of their time to actually CHECK for loot. You can't have everything "handed" to you in life. The OP seems to me, as though it's implying that life would be better if [claim would not only claim everything your heart desires, but also organize it in a neat and orderly fashion as well.

For one thing.. the "loot bag" does NOT organize anything. So even if Coli would interest himself enough into implementing this idea.. all it would serve to do is simply add everything you claim into another bag, in just as much a scattered mess as it would be in your main pack. So tell me, what is the point?

Secondly.. it doesn't matter if you simply read the posts on the main page.. I made a reply to Vythica's post before, not only with a bit of advice regarding his/her rudeness, but with an actual reply to the OP. No offense, but you had no business trolling and making irrelevant, redundant remarks regarding another one of my posts. If you have a personal problem with something I type, by all means, PM me. Don't be immature and drag this out into another thread. You could say the same about mine, but considering he/she only has 7 posts, maybe they weren't too familiar with the terms of flaming another forum member.

Really? You've used this "bag" script before? Then why, pray tell, do you continue to insist that its an organizational feature? I, for one, am quite familiar with the script as I've edited quite a few of them to my own liking during my tenure with different servers. I'm willing to submit the script for future reference if need be.

When you carry your purse with you.. do you carry a second one inside of it to toss random junk into it? What purpose does that serve?

I'd like to state for the record, that irregardless of the little peeing contest Llexa is trying to start with me.. I never meant to come across as down-casting the idea of a loot bag. I'm merely pointing out that there are a many other methods to use without adding a "loot bag".

As far as my post regarding (in my mind), Vythica's disrespectful reply to Black Death... well, I won't hear anything else of it. This thread isn't meant for people trying to start something with garbage like this. I feel that I've made my point, both in the other thread as well as here.

No, I remember stating that quite well, and will not change my stance on the matter. I feel that Colibri and his staff have already gone to great lengths to make things on this server so much easier than it really needs to be, which I feel is mostly under-appreciated.

Asking for extra additions to a script that not only claims your essentials (excluding the more valuable loot), but also rewards you tokens for claiming the corpses, is, disrespectful to some degree.

The idea isn't necessarily bad, but it's certainly not the first of its kind. As in, not the first request to make things even easier. Colibri has stated (correct me if I'm wrong) that he wants his players to have a user-friendly environment (thus, scripts like [claim), but to have a challenge as well.

Orbit, I didn't mean to single you out. This topic looked interesting to me. So I opened and read. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings by my post. My intention was not to upset you, I had just thought that maybe you forgot where Llexa was coming from. I know this happens and is not a big deal. Please don't feel offended, I enjoy getting to know other players and to learn that you know so many languages is vary interesting and cool.

The post I made was valid, you made a statement that you consider is fact. You define your opinion on the matter. Making it by definition fact. Then you flame Llexa on her disagreeing with your opinion. In my book that is okay, you can defend you opinions.

I have offended you, for this, I with absolute sincerity, apologize. I have stated my side and I do not mean any negative feeling or act to you. Please accept this with great respect, I value your opinions and would like to squelch hostilities. It was never my intention.

I think the bag could be useful. I have seen them on other shards as well. The best part of UO on Excelsior is that everyone is welcome and can play the game how they want. (within the rules) This mean that anyone can loot how they want. You can claim with the in game commands or through long hand dclicks and sifting. At some point in playing you must use the long hand way of looting its just a must. However for the daily grind style killing and looting I do not see an issue with the bag. It has been shared as an idea and is now up to the staff to decide on whether it should be implemented or not. I don't see it being implemented because of the high use of razor and other useful tools that the majority of the players know and use.

Aye, I absolutely agree with you there. I would like to apologize, again, to anyone else who I may have offended with the "lazy" remark. I myself have been a long time user of Razor, and have run/staffed numerous shards where people absolutely refused to attempt to use the program, and instead pleaded for scripts to make their life easier. I think the initial post caught me between the wee hours of the morning and amidst handling another issue. In any event, my intention was not to offend anyone, the wording was simply... off. Hehe..

On a side note, the bag is a wonderful idea, as there are days I can't stand looting things individually. But I still think adding this bag would only make things too easy, and encourage more requests for simplified scripts.
