Excelsior

Would it be possible to add the following to assist New Players :

- add a sign at the Town Centre informing players of the Youth Centre and it's location
- add details of the Youth Centre and it's location to the starter gump when New Players join our Shard
- add Youth Centre location to the Teleporters under Custom

It has been mentioned to me several times that people did not know of the Youth Centres existence until they had been playing for awhile, I must admit I was one of those players too.

I hope this will help New Players get a good start ingame.

I would think a starting book going over some basics would be cool if it was found in their backpacks.

For your information Aghorra we do have guide books that go over the basics of getting started included in all of our new player kits at the youth center.
There is also a copy of it on an elven podium on the front porch of the youth center as well.

New players are having difficulties finding their way to the youth center because there is not always a person at town center to guide them there only a blue
gate that takes them to the new player area where the donations chests are. A lot of new players don't go into the blue gate that leads to the youth center.
There is a red teleporter on the front porch of the youth center too but it only goes out not in. There is no option for the youth center on the teleporter to
the west of the starting area in town center. When I do my tours I take them back to town center then lead them through the gate to the new player area then
through the gate to the youth center so they know how to get back there for help. So unless the new player has magery high enough to mark runes that is
the only way to get to the youth center by using the red teleporter.

Very nice, Amora. Then perhaps a book that points out where the Youth Center is located and what it offers, and maybe a couple players' names they could PM if/when they need advice. I know by my own not-too-distant youth on Excelsior, there is not an intuitive system in place that leads a player from what can seem like the abyss of UO, into the assistance of the Youth Center.

I appreciate what you do and how you offer your time to enlighten new players, but there is a disconnect between character creation and the Youth Center. I found this to be true when my character was created, and I expect the same to ring true for others.

I sincerely don't intend this to be questioning your ability or desire to help, simply some information that might help identify a weakness, and result in making it a more seamless experience for new players to the shard.

Until staff decides to add a sign or book giving directions to the youth center from town center or adds a youth center option to the red teleporters or changes the new player starting location to the youth center there is not much else I can do other than pm them or guide them there.
