Sgáil - Skara
Mkay, so here's a few bugs I've noticed/some other stuff. Anything following isn't to be viewed as me bashing the area, its creators or anything of the sort. I'm simply providing some feedback on bugs/flaws that I have noticed, as well as some other implementations that may balance it/enhance it.
-Silver Power Node: Cannot be destroyed with summoned pets if there are mobs in the room. At least, not that I was able to. Unaware if there's another method to kill these.
-Targeting issues: Archers will shoot you through floors/walls. Noticed that it is mainly the archers on the roof (the four corners) shooting thru the walls of the basement (near the Warden/Nodes). Similarly, melee mobs will aggro thru the floor of the ankh room.
Edit: Jugger's hit thru the drawbridge I believe. I think its only if you stand at the edge, so just avoid that.
-Ximestis: Whatever this guys name is.. Might need to change a few things
1.) Someone can easily sit at the summoning tile and level their weapon from the mobs. Ximestis will teleport around and the elementals will just wait for you to shoot them/respawn rather quickly.
2.) The gate closes way too fast, or, closes at all. The fight is easy as pie if you do not enter the gate. Quite a different story if you do, however.
Note: If you leave Ximestis' room, you cannot reenter. Meaning, if you died in there, your corpse is stuck there. A few people have already lost items because of this. A corpse stone in the castle would be nice, as well as fixing said gate issue. People receive fair warnings on the place, not only from friends/global, but a kind NPC warns you to insure/bless everything before entering. Still, you cannot reenter Ximestis' room. So if you die and go to use the ankh, you aren't getting back in to get your corpse. By the time you realize this, you've already died 12 times and have no possibility of using a corpse stone. Said gate won't reopen for at LEAST another hour while you wait for Ximestis to respawn/someone to step on his tile (the only way gate spawns as of now)
-The Warden: is unidentifiable from other corpses once he is dead. His Ctrl+Shift shows as a Swordsman still and he does not have his fancy Black Cape on when he's dead. Would be great if there was a way to discern this guy from the others.
-Assassins: All the mobs are relatively well equipped/use abilities, namely Mortal Strike, and are generally pretty uber/hard to kill. Do we really need two dozen stealthed buggers roaming around the castle that one shot everyone as well?
-Corpse Stone: Could use one in/around the castle. Or if there is one, if someone could point it out.
-Rindal: Is there an Eastern tile? The Southern, Western and Northern ones all exist, yet last night/today I was unable to locate the fourth, Eastern tile.
-Drawbridge: First off, great idea. Second, it can be bypassed. You can teleport form the top of the tower (with the drawbridge lever) to the bridge, negating the need for the drawbridge.
-Juggernauts:
1.) Make them hit for... Oh, say 17 less damage? I should be able to tank them and be able to heal in between swings then.
2.) Give them a battle cry, like the Juka Lord's "{Your Name}, you'll have to do better than that to best me", but instead make it something like "Don't you know who I am?!?!" "I'm the Juggernaut!"
-Haven't tested out all of the Quests yet, but I've been told they are buggy/no reward was received.

Good feedback.
I think the juggs should be tankable if you have over 500hp. I can tank them if you call running away each time they actually land a hit tanking, I don't.
Re the quests, I completed the Chords quest early this morning and did not receive anything. I have a page in currently about it.

Regarding the rewards not being handed over. Do you guys run away as soon as the first thing is said by the NPC? This has been tested a few times before I opened the area and all rewards worked as long as you stood within the original triggering radius of the NPC.

I haven't done the quests yet, but when doing the puzzle, the key didn't spawn the first time for me (i ran away), spawned the second, when i sat there and pondered what i did wrong... and it appeared.

I ran around the room kiting a Jugg for about 3 minutes looking for something in my pack, decided I didn't get anything and then ran out.
Ok 3 minutes is a bit of an overstatement. Perhaps 1 minute or so, and how exactly am I to know what the original triggering radius is?

Three cheers for +V. The bigger issues have been spotted/fixed. If anyone knows of any other possible bugs, post 'em here.
So far, here's what has been fixed:
-Drawbridge working; no longer possible to bypass it via teleporting. Needs two people to operate it now, as it should.
-Gate to Ximethis' room stays open.
-Was no targeting issue with archers, just lag on my end.
-Ankh stone moved closer to entrance (one floor beneath where it was) and a corpse stone added nearby (huzzah)
I'll need to check back to see:
-If the Warden can be distinguished from other corpses
-If the Eastern tile to summon Rindal exists
-If Juggernauts say "Don't you know who I am?!" "I'm the Juggernaut!"
-If the Silver Node is still a pain to get, if there are swordsmen in the room.
-Whats up with quests (Don't run away from the quest giver when you turn it in; wait a minute or so to see if it gives you the reward)

It is possible to res underneath the castle because there is an ankh inside, above. Perhaps this is not intended, when you are still getting the key from the lever room it is very convenient to res there if you have died.

Those archers made it impossible to res in that room without getting 1 shot before you can re-gear. Thank you.
Two more side request; is it possible to be able to hide at least 30 seconds after your rez, so you can regear? And is the Eastern portal tile active? Cant seem to find it.

Forgot to add;
I understand the point of the Shadow Nodes to be invincible and able to one shot ppl. However, can you only make it so it only attacks ppl out in the sea. Im under the impression that was it original design was, to prevent boat landings.
I was on land trying to kill an Longbowman and afterward was trying to looting it. Once I got close to the coast, I saw the Fireball coming, but not enough time to loot and run.
Seems over kill to be one shot on land by the coast guards

I'd like to be able to claim, not sure if that was intended or not. Yes i know they do drop some other useful loot so checking corpses is a good idea first, but would be nice to empty them out if you don't mind, good sir.

What I will do in a bit, after I get some real life things done...
-Figure out how to keep mobs (except the archer) away from the silver power source in the castle
-Change that ankh in the castle to a resurrection tile
-Move the coastal shadow nodes out into the water and try to make their line of sight only to water tiles
-Think about possible placement of mini safe zones for re-gearing that only work for those who are dead. Although this removes a lot of stress of the area that comes deliberately with a difficult quest. I am not going to commit to these unless I foresee them not being exploited...like the pre-casting invisibility and casting to reset aggro. =)

On the inability to claim there...
Many of those mobs drop some decent coin, have higher probability to drop an ointment (occasional two), and many drop key items you need for quests. Some you can't get another chance to obtain for 45-60 minutes.
So, I see it as a protective measure for the players and a small barrier to the turbo-farmers. If you want to farm gold, you can run around the Umbris Camp. Also, there are always the Easy UO scripts that automatically loot gold from nearby corpses.
