There is a link to the full game download on our website frontpage. The download includes all the special patches. Use that as it is the best configured version to play on our shard.
The current OSI patch will cause problems with playing on our server.
Therefor, we recommend that you do not patch, until these things are worked up.
There's also the option of patching (you will get the new data files, maps and item graphics), and then downgrading just the two .exe files.
Current found problems:
- Spellbooks will show as "empty" altho they have spells in them
And, there's also new features that can be annoying.
In case you have already patched, follow these steps:
1. Download the downgrade to 5.0.0j
http://patch.uoexcelsior.com/client-501j.rar
2. Uncompress the archive
3. Copy the two files from the archive to your UO directory
(c:/program files/EA games/... by default)
You are advised to backup existing filed before you overwrite them.
This should get it fixed.

The UOGateway HOW-TO

Patching properly
I've prepared a nice tutorial on how to get things up and running. It's the same instructions, just edited to fit our shard. There's also other information about patches and such.

The UOGateway HOW-TO
I've finally found a way to get Ultima Online, UOGateway, and Razor
all working up to the lastest compatible patch.
No more getting stuck at verifying account.
Take the following steps:
1.) Uninstall UO completely. *
2.) Download Mondain's Legacy from www.uo.com (or pop in your cdrom)
3.) Install it completely.
4.) Go to your patch directory. Normaly "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Ultima Online Mondain's Legacy\patch"
5.) Create a file named "uoml_win32_5-0-6d.rtp" and make it read-only. * *
6.) Run UO normaly to begin that Auto-Patcher and patch it fully.
7.) Download and Install UOGateway 1.9.0.1266 (latest).
8.) Download and Install Razor (Version 1.0.0). NOT the new one! * * *
9.) Fire up UOGateway and select you favorite shard.
10.) Let your shard's patch finish. Sometimes UOGateway will pause for a while and appear to be stuck. Just wait it out.
11.) Pay attention. I said there were only 10 steps.
* Only nessesary if you have patched past patch 5.0.6c
* * If using UO Gold or Samurai Empire, the filename should be "uose_win32_5-0-6d.rtp"
* * * Razor is optional.
