Introducing: Mistvale Safe Haven
Re: Introducing: Mistvale Safe Haven
Picked up the Mistvale merchantile quest again today, after not being able to for quite some weeks.
Collected all the wood needed and put it in the questbook (MistvaleMerchantile1), and the NPC took it setting me up for the next step.... and quest borked, giving me a book called MistvaleMerchantile2 and put the quest in my questlog as no longer valid, the book wont auto turn in, and the merchant doesnt want it.
Same deal as the Mistvale Bounty Quests it seems.
Gathering all the wood took me hours, this is very frustrating... a bugged book was not what i did the quest for hehe.
I left a help request ingame.
On the bright side, i was able too do the beekeeping quest again, and it worked properly.
*update* Thanks Nyx for quick response.
Got a new book. and need to also collect 4K regular, Spined, horned, barbed and deamonic leather.
I cant rememeber needing the leather ontop of all the wood, from the first time i did the quest.
Can anyone please inform me about what the actuall requirements are too complete this quest when it was not bugged?

For future reference, sending a page is sufficient, you don't need to make a separate forum post in tandem with a page.
The quest requires various woods in step one, and then various leathers in step two.

Re: Introducing: Mistvale Safe Haven
I performed maintenance on Mistvale today.
Changes:
- Quest items will no longer decay on live mobs
- Minor modification to quest item spawn rates to account for the lack of decay
- Minor modification to monster corpse decay rate to further prohibit sharing of quest items.
- Updated all Mistvale dungeons' spawners to run on our custom XML templates system, to make future updates much easier for myself
- Updated both the Merchantile and Contract quests. Those of you who were having problems repeating the quests previously should be able to do so now.

Re: Introducing: Mistvale Safe Haven
Hi all,
Fairly new player (15 days) and still struggling with all the changes from the last time I played UO (about 10 years or so). I'm having a great time so far.
I saw "Mistvale" referred to in global chat as the newbie area, which I mistakenly--until now--took for the newbie dungeon accessible via the training room. I've been doing the rat quest a lot to get organics to sell on ExEx, figuring I could buy some of the stuff I need for later (LRC suit for magery, jewelry to help taming, etc.)
My question is about the 12 quests "available only to young players." I can't seem to start any of the quests. I didn't know if "young" meant [young] status--which I don't have any more--or "young" in the sense of 120 days.
I'm guessing I missed out due to my misunderstanding, but just wanted to check in case I'm doing something wrong!

Re: Introducing: Mistvale Safe Haven
I'm an idiot. I just noticed it appeared in my backpack. I was looking for a prompt similar to the rat quest.
Next question before I start: I saw the warning about circumventing the "young" requirement. May I do this quest even though I lost [young] status? I don't want to get banned/suspended.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Introducing: Mistvale Safe Haven
As long as you're under 120 days you are welcome to putz around in Mistvale and its accompanying dungeons to your heart's desire

Thanks, Nyx!
Re: Introducing: Mistvale Safe Haven
Changes to Mistvale:
- Players under 21 days' account age can no longer enter the area.
- The sash, reaper, and cloak quests have doubled in difficulty
- Exploits with the above mentioned quests that were allowing players to complete them multiple times has been fixed and tested by my own hands.
I am giving consideration to some further and more drastic changes to these quests to help prevent future attempts at exploiting them, and will make an announcement should I decide to implement any of these changes.

Account bound only means you cannot trade it with anyone else but yourself (ie other characters on your account can use it ) ... It is not Blessed or Insured so you can still loose Account bound items from death. So yes you would need to either Insure or Bless them if you do not want to chance loosing them when you die.

Is Mistvale going to be open to older players at any time?
