Greetings all,
I am sure you are interested in my progress. So, here is where I currently stand.
I am roughly 3/4 of the way done with the largest and most elaborate piece of the first section of the new content area that will be known as Touria. Essentially, it is the main quest line that I have been constructing off and on. It is interactive with the player and has a great deal of dialog. The progression of this main quest line requires a sophisticated method of triggering and player "bookmarking". Basically, I am making the main quest a part of a larger story that the player progresses through. This will allow the player to gradually gain access to areas as he/she progresses, earn favor of certain NPCs, and have access to areas and other goodies. Some NPCs will also respond to the player differently depending on where they are in the main quest line. Not all quests and content will be in this format.
Other than that, I have been creating some mob groups and working out the mechanics of how I want them to behave. Some will spawn as a group, but be randomly spawned somewhere on the land mass to serve as random enemy battle groups. Other will be made to target specific players and travel long distances to kill them.
All in all, I am pretty happy with where I am. However, there is much more to be done.
Back to it. =) Have a good night.
+V

Thanks for the update, sounds good... look forward to seeing it... Thank you for your work.
Re: Progress of Touria
delayed reaction response..
excellent work +v
what excites me the most is that you are experimenting, I mean uo has been around a loooooong time and without alot of tedius reverse engineering new capabilities aren't going to come to the client.. from what you are describing what excites me is you are approaching this with a desire to make new out of old, use what exists in unique ways, and for that reason godspeed mr. V can't wait to see the facet

Love the idea of being hunted, I can't wait to see how that turns out.
Re: Progress of Touria
+v I just want to say thank you for keeping us posted on your progress. I can't speak for everyone else but it's been a good long time since some of us Vets have been smited down with +V style with frequency we would like. I for one miss some of that frustrating toughness. With the great strides you have made ushering new people into the server with the new mistvale content (great job creating new addicts) it has a lot of us chomping at the bit for our turn at some new concepts and challenges to conquer. As soon as your ready for some testers let me know.

Re: Progress of Touria
I of course want to steal none of the thunder from +Nyx's hard work. I of course always think of it in a team mentality that you guys are our management team if you will. I look forward to when you open for testing. I unfortunately wasn't super active when +nyx worked up her Elysium tester list so I definitely want to make sure I don't miss your guinea pig post calling for relayered fools to run around and get hunted hehe. Please share this with +Nyx I don't wanna be in the dog house (getting too cold already).
Re: Progress of Touria
Bad RobRoy! Bad!
While the staff are collectively a team, and while we often bounce ideas off one another for our various projects, the projects themselves are quite separate. Some projects are a bit of a joint effort (The Umbris and Sgail updates last year, for example, were done by both V and myself); but Mistvale was all me, Fel Wrong was all +Mocha, Touria is all V, and so on.
But, it's fine, I'm just the redheaded stepchild of Excelsior. No biggie. *sniffle*

Re: Progress of Touria
much love Much love :) c'mon by now you know I am pretty well mannered but have a tiny punk streak :p
I know you 2 are doing the best you can with what you have to work with. I am thinking the patience we learn waiting will serve us well when it comes to conquering the challenges ahead.
