Just want to leave my 2 cents and, once again, advert against any auction measurements such as account bound or limiting bids per player. New content and new players is the way. Couldn't care less about the inability of players to bid above 200 millions in 3-5 months.
I care about items sitting in vendors, lack of events and the lack of overall game content. As should we all.

as quite new to this server (2 years only) I do not participate in auctions
for minor reason ... all interesting useful items were available in "first years" of the server.
When I ask how can I get X item, the answer from players with two digit history on this shard is
oh, that one it was available at some point of time but no longer.
I am not a collector (I live with carton boxes in my rented flat hoping that one day I will get rich enough to unpack my collections ..)
I decided that I will not feed the unhinged market of curios and relicts of decorative value.
Couple annoying examples:
- Totems.
- Zero slot Charger
- better and worse variant of Personal World Teleporter

Christmas totem is still available. The other seasonal quests are bugged but I believe they will make a return
There are lots of 0 slot chargers still out there TC has one right now for 1.5 mil. (not my vendor) I've seen them go lately anywhere from 1-2 mil, I recommend getting one while they are still affordable
The new rules PWT does go up as a donation bonus maybe once a year or so, well worth it to get if you got the scratch. Kinda pricey on the aftermarket, The grandfathered one, yeah that's pretty much gone, they do come up at auctions every so often, although not cheap. PWT of any kind have always been a donation or auction item.
Another side of the coin is there are much more things now that come from the shard that are very good and weren't here way back. I've never even seen Mistvale.
Some great items you can get now are:
Jewel of Winter (Christmas)
Gleam Aura Leggings (S'gail Quest)
Those two items are top tier in my opinion, but there are a bunch more really good ones:
Black Belt (Karate Quest)
Azurite Ring (Christmas)
Warp-Weft Shirt
Mistvale items
Staying out of the deco market will save you a ton of gold. I'm hooked bad on deco
