No re-auction this time. I'm thinking it would be nice to soon do an experiment where all the items are auctioned on a 24-hour auction stone (separately), but I'd need to recode the auctionstone or make something fresh.

Oh, a note on the new Sandbox addon. The deed says "turnable", it's not turnable but it's way to switch between two variants: a smaller "all contained within the sandbox" type, and the "sand and toys scattered outside" type.

its a good solution for the players that can't make the live auction but the live auctions are so much fun and its really the last event left on server for those of us who are 100% over the winter and halloween events. cant please everyone i guess
would it be possible to have a stone to record maximum bids for people that wont be able to attend the live auction? once live auction starts rather than have bidding start at the highest bids on stone just have the stone bid for absent players somehow. just think having bidding start at max bids from absent players kinda takes the fun out of the live auction bidding. if this is doable maybe hide absentee bids on stone so as to not take away from live bidding excitement.
sorry if ive already posted this suggestion somewhere else i cant recall. probably not doable on this ancient client just an idea.

Notes on some items:

The Personal World Teleporter is grandfathered to the player. After the auction I will do some tinkering to assign the grandfathering to the buyer. You can still lend it, or trade it, the no-mana-drain will not work for the other person. But after you get it back, it will continue to work with no-mana-drain for you.

The new addons created by the deco team: each author of the addon can chose to get a copy of their own addon (choice between that or a bigger gold reward), and usually most or all decide to get a copy for themselves. So keep in mind that you're likely not the only one to have it, but well the other copy is probably with the author, and not competing on the market with your unique-ish addon. These addons are intended to be sold again, multiple times over the years, but it's likely that another copy won't be sold for at least 6 months. (probably more considering we have had a batch of new addons on every auction since april)

Thanks for the auction log Wil, to me it looks like about 2.29 billion gold was sunk today.


Quick thoughts/plans:
- There will likely be no more re-auctions, it's just too much work after the auction to also organize that. Maybe someday... but right now I'm happy that the auction is over with, so I can focus on coding again. Maybe someday if it's automated/coded, but there's so many other things that we can play with.
- Next auction probably in first half of October... there might be some new gore/gruesome/halloweeny themed addons.


- I'm thinking that a more-accessible auction in the format of 24-hour bidding stones, right next to the displayed items, would be a good idea. Would need to be coded, and i'm kinda passionate about this idea right now, but I don't know how it will be with so many other things that need doing. Basically a simple stone, you see the current highest bid, and ability to outbid, and there's a simple 24-hour delay after the last bid was posted. After 24 hours of no bids, the highest bidder wins. There's a bit of a problem with bidding on more than one could afford, maybe the existing Exex "gold in trade" functionality could be used. Yeah it's not as exciting as live, but we can try it once and see how it goes. There would be a global announcement when something is sold (and possibly 15 minutes before the bid would be final)

I think this is a decent idea. Especially if it automates the process and frees up your time, leading to more auctions (and deleting the hue reservation system).

I think the live auctions have their place. Auction fever and some of the bidding frenzies are great to watch.
