Are we able to make these Auctions a little more friendlier to newer players?

Happy Holidays!
Hey, not sure who you are, but err... I don't know what to say man. A couple of points I will make in response your swipe:

Before I begin just reminding you that +C started this thread for us to put ideas up for auction items, right? I commented on an auction item, staying entirely on topic, and you post this shit. Seriously, these forums have become more toxic than 8chan. I don't know when the quality of our community declined so badly, but yeah in 15 years (Yes 15 years fool - point it out like it's a bad thing), the community has never been so toxic, fractured and hateful. I don't know who you are but take your hate elsewhere.

Now, to rebuff your thinly veiled attack and sookfest:

1) I'm on a lucky streak on raffles... but I lose a lot more than I win. I don't know how this affects this price of bread or why you feel the need to bring it up. People just gonna hate I guess.

2) About 85% of this content on the server is designed for new players. Save a few crumbs for the vets, hey? We enjoy an auction, we've been here years, have a lot of gold and it is healthy for the server to flush that gold away. So vets spending billions on items is good for the server. If you don't understand that, it is on you. If you can't game enough to get that wealth, again, it's on you bud.

3) On the greater SoT. Just calling a spade a spade. I am not doing it for entirely selfish reasons. Just pointing out that the item is weird and not very good as it is, if +C wanted to make it a usable item he would need to modify the stats. BTW as I stated at the start this whole thread was made to comment on auction items.

4) Definitely agree with your point about guild hues being locked up. #FreeTheHues!! I've started a whole thread to help young players (or vets who are too scared to use their real name to attack someone on forum) like you on this front. Thanks for joining the fight!

5) I have barely posted on the forum for months now because every time I do some shill or fool attacks me. I can see this trend continues, so awesome, good on you. I would insert some choice words for what I think of your post here, but the whole point of me not posting on forums is I don't want to be involved in, or start any shitfights... but seems I can't even post my thoughts on an item without being attacked still, so go fuck yourself bro.

and lastly... lastly

6) I'm not even attending this fucking auction (I am going mountainbiking with my sons today), so go cry somewhere else, maybe go outside, as you said. Pack your vendor up and find a server that suits you. Go and attack random vets on their forum. I certainly would be happier knowing we had one less shit-stirring sook here.

Seriously, I don't know when the forum turned into such a toxic place. I will revert to not posting anything again since it doesn't matter how inane my posts, I always stay on topic now, but still the attacks begin. Anyways, this is my last post on this forum. Delete what you have to of it +C but this forum has become so disgusting I am not posting anymore.

Good luck at the auction today everyone, I won't be there. I hope rich vets win everything.
Sorry for being rude to ya. Hope you're not too upset and hope you had a great time with you children!

Sure. Past auctions have included things like blessed scissors which are more useful and accessible to new players than older ones. There's no particular reason something like that couldn't be a standing item at every auction.

You already apologized for the rudeness of the rest of your screed, so I'll leave it at that.

Speaking as a Vet, I could set an alarm and get up earlier to attend Auctions, but I don't because just seeing the sell list makes me feel poor. At this rate, by 2026, I might have saved up enough gold to be in the running for a Titan's Hammer.

Regarding making the auctions newbie-friendly, it would be worth trying to sell max-age restricted items, they'd also have to be account-bound.

On a related note, veteran mounts & footprints, might be interesting to sell one such item at every auction. Someone (sorry, forgot who) at the auction raised a concern about these items being sold at auctions, since veterans waited a long time to be able to get that. So in case that becomes a common practice, I'd stay in the low-range and mid-range of the veteran items, let's say 8 years-account-age being the max, but also trying if there's any good bids on the 1-year veteran rewards.

Lots of good ideas in this thread, and I'll probably refer to it in future auctions.

Re: Off-topic about raffles, last time I made an analysis about whether the raffles are fair - yes it turned out that the number of stuff won correlated very nicely with number of tickets bought. Been a while since I made that analysis, so I'd like to check it again, but there haven't been any significant code changes so it's unlikely that there's an exploit, or a kind of backdoor, in the raffle system.
