i do not ask that EVERY event is on weekdays. but maybe SOME?
Would that even work out for you? I presume your weekend activity is a job, since you wouldn't be asking the rest of us to accept inconvenience as a result of weekend engagements that were mere preference. That means you don't work every weekday, but you do work some of them, right? You'd be a truly rare bird if you always worked weekends but never worked any weekdays.

Yes would work out for me. I work every weekday but not on weekends. As family time very limited in weekdays the weekends are reserved for family activities and trips without exception. Having time on weekend is very rare occasion whilst time in weekdays is normally given. Only if I have vacation I might not have time on weekdays. It is kinda anticyclic to what people normally have time.

So just to be clear: you'd like alternating events to be scheduled at a time distinctly less convenient to the majority of the players because the game is not important enough to you to allocate one hour for it on a weekend? And you're not even sure if you can attend the alternate times yourself, because you work and have very little available time those days?

No. Weekdays I got the time. The only exceptions are vacations like weeklong trips to other countries or public holidays where I do not work.
And if it is not convenient for so many people then I wonder why on weekdays the server is crowded as well. It is maybe not convenient for some people same as weekdays. And alternating between weekdays and weekends would still give the opportunity for the people that are there on weekends. Same reasoning applies to take one hour off your schedule for the event on weekdays. The current system leaves people out of the equation that are not there on weekends ALWAYS. There are no exceptions. Yeah there might be also people that might not be able to attend on weekdays but they can attend every other event then. Like this everyone can witness them at least partly whilst the current system has some people that can always attend and some that can almost never. Last auction was a real life exception for me where my son and wife were on a trip with just the 2 of them and I had the time on Saturday which now happened the first time in the last 2 years.
I see the point that people think they lose something but as you say it is a valid argument that someone frees 1 hour of their time no matter what and when then you even admitted that all events on weekdays would be feasible (which I do not want nor requested).
It ist just rediculous what level of double morale is happening here. You say If the game is important to me then I should free 1 hour for it on weekends but say it is inconvenient for people to have a weekday event. Like then someone else would maybe need to free 1 hour which then would not be ok.
I just asked to alternate between weekdays and weekends on events to give all the players a chance to participate. It does not mean that players that mainly play on weekends are not allowed to be there in weekday events.

I'm confused. You work such long hours during the week that you don't have time for family. That's why you completely reserve your weekends for them.

But you can take hours-long breaks any time during your work day to play online games?

So the fallacy in this argument is that weekdays and weekends are equal but they're not. A majority of people work Monday - Friday and are off on the weekend. The weekend is a time to enjoy yourself. Spend time with family, friends or play an online game. During the week your time is not your own. You have to work to provide for yourself and your family. You're lucky that you can work and find time to play online but most people do not have that luxury. Serious game playing is usually reserved for evenings and weekends, depending on how you prioritize your time. I applaud you for making time with the family #1 on your list of priorities. When you do that you sacrifice other things to have that time with them, including participating in structured UOEX events. If the event was held on a weekday, most of us would not be able to make a choice between work and play. We would have to be at work no matter what. It's not realistic to expect a whole community to change what is convenient for the majority just to accommodate one person. You are free to suggest an alternative date and time but don't be surprise with the response you may receive.

We have players from all over the place (time zones) and during the week the great majority would be negatively affected because making an effort to be online at the same time period makes players have to be active at very late or very early hours or even while working. Also our game dev has a job and we must account for his availability and working hours. I'm sorry for the situation, but nothing is ever perfect.
