Well i just heard that this flu will mostly hit hives that are packed together. Spacing the hives a few tiles won't help... But those recreational beekeepers don't have anything to fear, as the virus mostly attacks large clusters of hives.
A big beekeeping farm from Jhelom just reported about a 40% drop in revenue. Small beekeepers from Minoc and Trinsic are reporting very insignificant drop in revenue, some say no drop.
Well you know for the first week or 2 I saw about a 40% drop too. Now I just did a spot check and it was a lot more than 40% drop in a lot of cases. I saw a LOT of hives that only produced 1 time in a week and at least one that produced zero times in a week. If the intent is to just not have hives at all just say so and I can go ahead and axe all of mine.

Re: Bee epidemic!
Are yours all packed on top of each other?
Re: Bee epidemic!
I'm actually looking into a bug i could have caused that makes them grow more frequently than just every 24 hours. I will restart and also lower the virus rates a little bit and we'll see how it goes.
Also, how many hives do you have in your house?

Re: Bee epidemic!
P.S.: I don't want to get rid of the hives, I just need them to be more in the balance with all of the rest. A 40% drop would be the best, but it doesn't seem to be exactly according to plan.
Can any other beekeepers tell me if they also had a total destruction or did it go well?

Re: Bee epidemic!
my hives all died out in a couple of days... so i axed them and rearranged my hives. working good, but like someone posted earler do different floor affect the hives too?
Re: Bee epidemic!
Putting them on different levels will not improve production. The hives check their proximity - they ignore the Z coordinate.

Re: Bee epidemic!
well as everyone probably knows, haha, all my bees have died. Like, I think it is the rate of rechecking them that is off, b/c I would potion mine, and 24 hours later, they would go from Healthy, to Dying or totally dead. So i started checking twice a day (morning and night) and STILL couldn't figure out the rapid changing. I re spaced them, and everything, and again, everyday I would come to find that 5 or so were completely dead, whereas the day before, they might have been healthy, and with 5hp at the same time of day. (I think that number in the upper left is Hp anyways).
So yeah, totally bizarre :) They were doing fine before the sickness. I have shelled out soooooooo many resources in potions it's crazy. So mine are all axed for now, until something gets fixed, b/c I was only losing money and my entire life was revolving around my bees who needed monitoring more then I could possibly be home for. Even with 2x daily checks, there was no hope.

Re: Bee epidemic!
Well I must recant a bit. While the ones I spot-checked were mostly almost no production, when I harvested ALL of them I found the 40% drop was pretty close. So I guess I was hitting a very high proportion of the ones not producing much on the spot-check and missing almost all of the ones that had decent production.
But this still doesn't explain why some people like Llexa have just had all their bees die. Over and over no matter what they did.
Maybe consider removing the epidemic and just making a straight reduction in product on all the hives every day. At least then you would know when to harvest. You wouldn't have 1 hive with 40 honey and another one with 255 in same time frame then. Maybe this would remove the "all hives dying" for some people. Just a thought.
