IDOC Event September 23

Post by +Colibri »

There will be an IDOC event on September 23rd, at 22:00 shard time. (that's 6pm US-East, 3pm US-pacific, 23:00 western Europe, 00:00 central Europe; 8am Sunday morning in Australia).

The notification emails were sent 2 weeks ago, and I'll resend them today (but only for those who haven't yet logged in). Keep in mind that when a player is inactive for a long time, and they get a notification email that their house will fall, they go into "notification cooldown". Everyone needs to remember on their own, to refresh their house. Then after about 1-2 years of refreshing the account without a notification, a notification would be sent again.
So the point of this notification is mostly to say that houses decay on here, and so if you don't play, you need to remember to refresh your account periodically.
And it's not the point to notify before every IDOC.

At 22:00 shard time, all houses of inactive players will be deleted, and most of the stuff inside will fall to the ground and be able to be picked by anyone. If you are scouting the land, keep an eye for houses that say "In danger of collapse" or even "Greatly worn". And keep in mind that some of these houses, if the owner logs on by Saturday, will not fall.

Just have a tiny wish that you could make the event start at 23:00 shard time or 00:00 shard time, 22:00 shard time is a bit early for me (I'm at UTC+7), thanks though.

I think this timeslot is the optimum for most people.

Is anyone in contact with Merrilus? Her big houses are IDOC.

It will be a frenzy if they don't refresh; I have my eye on one of the Stronger Boxes.

IDOC Question...

Are only houses that were IDOC when e-mails went out Sept 4 included in this Saturday's IDOC event? I've marked IDOC houses in the past that didn't fall days later in the IDOC event. Ex: Say a Greatly Worn goes IDOC on Sept 10, almost a week after e-mails were sent, will it fall this Saturday or will they be included in the next IDOC where they'd get the full notification period to save their house?

A suggestion for your rune house: leave a space between every 5 runes or so. Or put something under the rune every 5 or so, like a goza mat. Lined up like they are, it's tough to keep count of which ones you've visited.

Pour one out for your soon to be fallen hommies... Anyone with UOSteam that wants to drink to a departed friend... here's a little macro I wrote. It will have you drink all items in a container, only drinking when the previous drink wears off.

You'll need to update the first two aliases with the ID of the container containing your drink and the ID of your buff gump (the buff gump acts like a container and the display items act like objects) You'll also need to change the type in both findtype commands, the code below is set for bottles of ale. The macro loops until all bottles are gone.

@setalias a_bag_of_booze 0x4249cebe
@setalias a_buff_gump 0x48c91f0c
while @findtype 0x99f 0 a_bag_of_booze
@setalias a_ale_bottle found
while @findtype 0x99b 0 a_buff_gump
pause 1000
endwhile
useobject a_ale_bottle
waitfortarget 15000
target! 'self'
endwhile
