Grand auction - February 3rd and 4th

Post by +Colibri »

There will be a grand auction this weekend.
First on Saturday, February 3rd, at 22:00 shard time. (That's 5pm eastern, 4pm central, 2pm pacific; 11pm central europe; 9am sunday morning for most australians)

Second on Sunday, February 4th, at 19:00 shard time. (That's 2pm eastern, 1am central, 11am pacific; 8pm central europe; 6am sunday morning for most australians).

Items that will be sold on the Saturday aucton:
Harpy on perch
Explosive Dip tub
StrongerWoodenBox
Deed for a Totem Slot
Ancient Titan's Hammer
Ancient Yumi
Ethereal Demon
Shore House
Bamboo flute (infinite uses)
Sharpening Blade
Ethereal Dye Tub
Change Shield Appearance to Knight Shield
EtherealHorse
(also a nice collection of addons/deco, see below)

Items that will be sold on the Saturday aucton:
Gazer on perch
Lightning Dip tub

Ancient Composite Bow
Greater Spirit of the Totem
Ethereal Saddle
Deed make your house always-like-new
Personal World Teleporter

Ethereal Cu Sidhe

Deco items that will be sold both on the Saturday and Sunday auctions:
MeltedSnowman
Bag of Ice Floes
Lakeshire well addon
Britain Bank Well
Dressable corpse
Pensieve addon
Scaffold addon
Stockade East
Sitting Area 6 addon
Heart Of Excelsior
Romantic Picnic addon
Valentine Hedges
LampPostFlickering
Valentines Flower Heart
Valentines Setting 2
Valentine Dinner addon
Floating Candelabra

Re-auction: although the last re-auction took quite a lot of clicking and paperwork to get thru, I have decided to still run the re-auction after this time, but with a few tweaks to balance it out and to make it easier. Also like with other grand auctions, only the items that were sold only either on saturday or sunday can be re-auctioned. The deco that is already sold twice, will not be re-auctioned.

Additional rules for re-auction, that will also be in effect for future re-auctions:
1) The top 3 priced items will not be considered for the re-auction list. Before generating the list, I will take those 3 items out and then pick 50% of the items at random.
2) One player can bid on at most 3 items in the re-auction.
3) Please make sure to submit a separate ticket for each of the items you are bidding on. Also wait until the official list is announced - any ticket that is sent before that will be closed and not considered (e.g. "if the sharpening blade will be in the re-auction, I will bid" - such tickets/bids are invalid)

Woohoo. Thanks +C.

Although I fear we're going to see something very bad for the shard occur based on the last auction/re-auction.

All will be fine. If what you fear actually happens then that just means we need to have more auctions. Lol!

I hope that you are right, and I don't often agree with you. We are already seeing some of the inflationary effects... I guess we will know in a few days.

As you said, one solution is for +C to just repeat the grand auction again for a couple of weeks straight. Let's wait and see. *Concerned face emoji*

Isn't there always a jump in auction prices following the holiday donation bonus?

Dec and Feb historically have high prices at auctions, true. Let's wait and see. I hope I am wrong, because I fear the consequences if I am right.

In ed prices i see deflation right now, but if it will go in high speed, than perhaps inflation can follow later. People want their work to be valued if gold value will increase than many can be glad. For a lootables, you still need to work to acquire them, of course if you don't get them in some idoc or desperate seller, who want to have one more gold coin, at same time killing wish to work, to anyone else. Luckily ''ancient ones'' are enough polished to not let this thing to fall too low (for now) and uses moment that you can get two cookies later, if you don't eat this one now. I would say, take whatever stick you want, it will always have two sides. Imagining that secret is in changing the sticks in right time. Anyway remembering some topic
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14173&p=81781&hilit ... our#p81781
And this is another thing to think about if one of possible motivations of fair is true, if motivation is different, this can be still valid, but in different light, yeah you can use scissors to cut what is needed and also for cutting someones wedding dress Am not claiming anything, just making even more mess :P
My inner gnoll just asks to take in to account and mention this all. And guessing after 3 min something else will come in mind, but will be too lazy to edit another time.

every now and then a big donator enters the arena and cleans up at the auction. it can be very annoying especially if they decide to buy stuff for resale but that's life. i doubt we are gonna get a steady enough stream of big donors that can really mess with our economy in the long run unlike 24/7 afk farming which does mess with our economy and destroys player's attitude towards the server.

Thanks for the list.

The gate to the special house is private and can't be accessed. Can we see it please? It also says it is a 1 slot house, aren't they all meant to be 0 slot for auction houses?

Personally a little sad none of the good weapon upgrade deeds are available, but there's some good items in the list.

See you all tomorrow.

1) Ain't nobody AFK farming 168 hours per week. After 18 years I'd like to think +C has developed strong enough counter measures that any players attempting to do so such are identified and strongly "discouraged".

2) Balron's were nerfed because of this "farmed gold is bad" attitude. Yet more than 1/2 a year later auction prices are as high as ever. Good indicator most 9 figure gp auction purchases aren't being made with gold acquired when players loot the corpses of their fallen monster foes.

Actually if you look at auction data over the last 12-18 months you’ll see that auction prices have actually come down.

The auction prices over the last 2-3 months are inflated for the exact reason John Warren mentioned (even tho he didn’t explicitly).

Trying to work out if this is genuine, or a nasty, sarcastic comment.

Why would I tell everyone good luck and be nasty or what was it you called me sarcastic. Oh that's right I'm the bad thing you all have been talking about huh? Why not just come out with it, instead of shady insults behind my back? I have no problem with anyone here and have tried and helped most even you got a great deal on travesty keys, even ran a free public event just to have fun. It's quite offensive to be honest. :displeased:
