TEMPORARY RULES

Post by +Colibri »

Our big rule book is currently under construction, needs alot of writing, so i'm posting some of the basic rules here.

SHARING ACCOUNTS
We allow 1 account per person. Nothing more, no how, never. If you wish for your family or roommates (with the same IP to play), it is allowed. If your relative/friend/roomate cannot make his account, write a book and contact a staffmember, we will make it for you. The book must contain: 1. your username, 2. your most played character, 3. the username that is suposed to be created.
Having one account for multiple people is allowed, but you take full responcibility of whatever the other people do on your account. We encourage that ever person has a separate account.

LANGUAGE
We do NOT tolerate:
- humiliating/degrading/insulting/threatening other players or staffmembers
- religious or racial slurs
- anything illegal, promoting illegal activities, attempting to hack into anyone's computer or account
If you do say anything of the above, you might get a warning, or you might be jailed/banned temporary or permanently without a warning.

Local chat: Cussing is not allowed, however we do tolerate a bad word here and there. But if you intend to make a sailor blush you can be a candidate for beeing gagged, from public chat or not beeing able to say anything in the game at all for a period of time.
Public chat: The really strong cusswords are masked out by asterisks, about the same rules apply as local chat. Note that thru this chat, all of the shard can hear you, and if someone finds your message offensive, they can report you.
Guild chat: About the same guidelines apply for it as for the public that, but the guildmaster handles problems.
Private messages: Basically anything goes here, as long as you don't insult/threaten a player. If someone is harassing you via personal messages, you can put the player on "Ignore", if you believe it's necesary you may also contact a staffmember.

GUILDS
All guild activities are under the responsibility of the guildmaster. Should you have a problem with a guildmate, first discuss it with your guildmaster, or someone who is incharge for running the guild. If you cannot reach an agreement there, you may contact the staff.

LOOTING:
Share the loot with others that participated in killing, unless if they wish not to get a part of it. We cannot log which player took what from the corpse, so please just play fair. In case there's a dishonest player

EVENTS:
All public events must be scheduled, at least 3 days in advance, contact a staffmember if you wish to plan a public event.

PROPERTY OF:
All the objects in game are the property of UO Excelsior Shard. We do not take responcibility for loosing that data, we do not take responcibility for the shard beeing offline. However, we will do our best to keep the shard stable.
Please do not sell the in-game objects for real money. This is a request, it's not forbidden. Know that this is a freeshard, running on donation money.

Legal macro programs? Illegal programs? (speedhack?)

What about warnings and reprocussions for stuff like swearing and harrassment?
do you get a warning for first offence and then jail time?
Is there a jail?

Will specific illegalities have set terms imposed......Like,....
Hacking the shard will result in InstaBan...
Things like that.

i believe all macro programs are legal. Speedhack isnt, but i think there's a piece of code that prevents you from using it effectively.

There is a jail, we cant wait to use it  hehe just kidding

there's always a warning, unless if something you do is really considered intentional breaking of the rules or trying to exploit the system.

So if a player comes marching in, swearing out everybody, they dont have much chance to stay here for long. But we will try to keep our senses and first warn people, tell them that this is something that we dont like on this shard, and if it continues, we take action (jail/gag/ban from chat/squelch, or even ban the account, or even firewall the IP from which the person is connecting)
