What's your hobby?

I looked for such a topic, but didn't find anything, so decided to start it myself...
I am curious what do Excelsiorans do in their free time outside the game (yes, there is something out there! ). You enjoy playing football? Fishing? Online poker? Role Playing games? Hiking? Share!

I have 2 major hobbies - sailing and 'crafting'. I live right by the sea and a near a few large lakes, so it was kind of obvious. I sail only as an amateur - I like the peace and quiet of being away from anyone else and the adrenaline of bad weather. I dislike sport sailing (ie.racing) - while it is a better test of skill it is also more stressful and I find sailing in circles boring. Unfortunately where I live it's a seasonal sport, since It's a bit cold in winter to sail. And when the sea freezes over it's actually impossible.

The time outside sailing season I spend crafting (in the UO sense) - carpentry (woodworking rather) and tinkering (mechanics, electronics, non-blacksmith metalcrafting) mostly since blacksmithing is fairly expensive (the metal and renting a forge). No tailoring tho. Generally if something has moving parts and requires DIY assembly - I'm in. Use of power tools is a big bonus. For an idea of what I'm working ATM:

Oh, and that's my first ever craftable - a knife I made when I was 14, still have it as a reminder of humble beginnings. : ) Sorry for poor quality - my phone camera sucks.

With 5 boys I dont get much free time but my 2 main hobbies are making beer (i drink very little and give most to the neighbors ) and the other is beer can collecting. I started collecting with my brother in about 1976 and have continued on and off till now. I currently have about 4000 different cans and about 25% of those are inventoried.

Yes Anarchy!

With it I enjoy long walks on the beachfront overlooking the sea while the sun sets.

I enjoy reading, cooking, playing the piano and watching a good movie and listening to music (not all at the same time).

Jogging in the morning and a good cup of freshly brewed coffee really help set the tone at 5 am.

And spending my time on Excelsior of course, it's a fun game

I Read, Read and Read some more. I also am a fanatic about smartphone's especially android and constantly stay up to date on new phones etc. Otherwise I am not real exciting. Oh I am also working on several books, booklets and lessons on various subjects one of which I will publish to kindle within the next 30 days and others that will come out once I get a decent camcorder for the multimedia portions.

I live in Hong Kong and have pretty long working hours so I don't have much time for hobbies other than UO, though I like collecting toys (Saint Seyia and Doraemon collections are my favorites), reading books (Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance in particular). I also spend quite some time (almost every Sat afternoon) volunteering as an officer in Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps.

Lets see my hobbies, cooking on the grill ( mmm meat over fire ), i am a boy scout leader for my son's troop been doing that for about 5 years, i help with my daughters' girl scout troop and for the last 12 years i have been a board member and head coach for our local girls fast-pitch softball league. sportbike track time. 4 wheeling,shooting. most of the time i just work. started back playing UO 2 days to go, to give me something to do when stuck in a hotel for work.

I'm disabled, so I don't get to go sailing or jogging or any of the cool things mentioned above. (but please don't feel sorry for me, I have an extremely interesting life to be honest).

I'm a mother of 4 hellions. My youngest actually turned terrible 2 on 6/6/6 so you can imagine what she's like, especially since she's named after Morgana LeFey.

I do table top role playing on saturdays. The game is RIFTS by Paladium. I'm an egyptian princess who can not only turn a few awesome spells, but I have my own fighter jet to boot! Downfall.. daddy's part bird.. not sure if it's chicken or what.. he just has feathers *shrugs* Thank the gods I only got half his DNA LOL.

I also love to read. I read everything from Koontz to Laurel K. Hamilton. What can I say? As long as it's a good book I don't mind reading it.

actually i do have a lot of hobbies.

I help teach at the Women's Advocate in self defense, and i help out at the jail literacy program (to help offenders not offend again). I also participate in Touch Guy Tournaments, which is like mix martial arts except we wear gear (yeah i know little erm. wussy like). i tried sailing once on Lake Michigan but got stuck out there once and had to be towed back in. was a few of us out there too lol. oh and i love playing texas holdem; used to play on poker stars until the usa government got mad and shut them down (because they couldn't get their slice of the pie). I also play in tournaments in texas holdem at Potowagami a local casino here. I also participate in walks and runs throughout the year. sounds like work huh? i am actually Korean born in Pusan then adopted by great people. i don't normally put picture of myself up on forums and stuff. but i guess here's a picture of me.


I believe not everyone got lucky as i did in life; i feel it is necessary to help others reach higher goals than they believe they can do themselves.
