Summer movies that don't stink!

Post by Cyric »

Forget about Thor, Hangover 2, Harry Potter, or anything else that has done huge box office numbers. The best film of the summer will be Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I don't care what anyone says, super intelligent monkeys kick butt. This movie will wash any memories of that God-awful Mark Wahlburg/Tim Burton Planet of the Apes tragedy out of your mouth. Harry Osborn, Draco Malfoy, and the real Hanibal Lektor are going to do Roddy McDowell and Kim Novak proud, and restart the Apes series with a far smarter film than anyone could have done.

POTA fans unite!

(Yeah so I might have had a few to many Bud Lights when I was dj'ing tonight, but damn that movie looks awesome!)

Indeed.... looking forward to the release. But like Forrest Gump said... " Life is like a box of chocolate...you never know what you gonna get " e.g. Transformers? Too much hype but didn't deliver... i came out :?: after it finished.

Out of the short list that I have watched, Harry Potter still tops my list. And though it was already the last movie for the whole franchise, it still left me hanging.

I have read the books and it would be normal not to get all the details in it, but it was just a fun thing to watch. Though I know which sequence would come next, apart from those which are not really on the book, I was still glued to what was about to unfold.

okay so.. I'm a huge harry potter fan (books not the boy) so watched that one. Also a huge goth fan so watched the new twilight series one that came out. AND I'm also really into mythology, so watched Thor and Immortals. I have to say that movies are just fun, and it doesn't really matter which is the best, as long as it's not cars that turn into robots or the other way around that are from outer space or.. *shrugs* never seen any of the transformer movies, so just going by the ugly trailers I was forced to watch :)

Please, please do not say Twilight is goth. It's like saying that emo-kids and people who commit suicide are the same group. Unless you meant that it is a parody of the subculture. Twilight borrows some of the stylistics (ie. the looks) from the gothic scene, but that's about where the connection ends.
