Star Wars fans!?

so by now im sure you have heard that Disney owns the rights to Star Wars...BUT from what i HEAR its just merch rights (action figures, shirts...etc) but i do know that JJ Abrams is writing it and i am a fan of his...what are you're thoughts on the new star wars...supposedly they are going to make many more....excited, mad its a big time for us die hard fans

The only good thing they could do, which no one ever does, is make movies out of the novels that take place before or after what we've already seen and stick to the stories precisely. I guess what they'll do instead is come up with their own hip/modern spin on the franchise... appall the purists/old heads, retain crazed fans who'd love anything with a Star Wars logo on it, and bring in new fans who have no preconceptions about it. That's just a guess. Only thing I know for sure is they're going to do a whole lot of something, for better or worse. They've got a few billion dollars to go before they reach break-even.

I'm excited about new movies and Disney owning it. Lucas wasn't doing much in the movie department. I heard they are going to make another trilogy, but also do single movies about different characters, so far I've heard a Yoda movie and a Boba Fett movie. I hope this proves to be true, I'd love that.

When it comes to them making the novels into movies, I'm not really into that. I didn't much like the Timothy Zahn series. Although I did like aspects of it, like Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Time will tell, looking forward to whatever comes
