WOW and....WOW
Starfish & coffee, maple syrup & jam. Butterscotch clouds & a tangerine, side order of ham.

Wow indeed! Good lord woman, you are brave! Isn't that super painful? Do you develop some kind of holy bond with the artist since they're permanently doodling about your body?! Beautiful, were there symbolic reasons too for selecting this image? o.O

thanks, guys!
Eos, I got a huge chuckle out of your wording. So, to answer your questions...

Super painful? No. But it *does* hurt, some areas worse than others. The area in the middle of the chest plate was pretty painful, for instance. Anyone who tells you tattoos don't hurt is lying, however the pain isn't the hard part; it's the length of time you have to sit to make a session worth while on something like this. Over time, the adrenaline wears off and as spots are gone back over a couple of times, it hurts more and all the while you're getting nice and stiff from sitting in that chair.Isn't that super painful?
Well, I for one don't let anyone I don't like as a person tattoo me. I've made that mistake twice, and both times it's ended in disaster. There's definitely got to be some level of trust and understanding there, or you're never going to see eye to eye on the design.Do you develop some kind of holy bond with the artist since they're permanently doodling about your body?!
Absolutely. I love octopus for a number of reasons, the three main ones being their adaptability, ingenuity and curiosity. Three traits I feel everyone should aspire to. An octopus can overcome overwhelming odds; if there's a tiny crevice, it can escape. Open a jar from the inside? No problem. Hey, let's carry around two halves of a coconut shell as ARMOR. All the while, it's building its little garden on the ocean floor. Not sure if that really explains it, but it's the best I can do at the moment. lolBeautiful, were there symbolic reasons too for selecting this image? o.O

hehehe, that is a darned fine looking tat, Dis...and yeah, all tattoos hurt, after all it is tiny needles jabing into your skin thousands of times... personally my one tattoo didnt hurt all that much, just got really warm feeling and lightly stinging..
here's a pic, I designed it myself...
I plan on getting two more that I have already drawn up.

That is awesome! Looks amazing. You had a great artist. I need mine finished, but the guy left town. Figures. How did you come up with it?
Re: Gratuitous Tattoo Thread
bastian if you are referring to mine. its a design I had been playing around with in my head/in paintshop pro for a few years... I wanted something that had the feel of venom's markings (from spiderman) but was a demon/dragons head.
and if that post was meant for disposable, then im sorry and yes I wanna know too!

Re: Gratuitous Tattoo Thread
I think I'm just going to go ahead and use my first post on these forums to say, "Bloody hell, that is a FANTASTIC tattoo."
I might also say, "I bloody love it," and "How long does something like that even TAKE?"
But I certainly won't admit that I would haven't got the balls to have something like that done. (I will. Because I really haven't.)
I'm not usually into colour in tattoos, but I love that. Plus, who doesn't love an octopus? Only buffoons. A friend of mine has a stunning kraken destroying a boat on her back - it's a favourite of mine... but I'd put yours up alongside it.
