I dunno, a 5 pack of imps isn't "great" until you dump millions (10's of millions) of gold in oints into them.
Granted there's a few things in game that could not be done solo without them, but that's pretty much the server theme.

I agree with this! It's only powerful when it's maxxed and in some cases they are powerful against some mobs... therefore they are one of the most powerful pets in the shard.

They do trivialize one of the hardest monsters in the game (ice wyrm) fresh out of the crystal. Unless it has been changed

This was more of an impact statement back when oint prices were 8k-10k each, now at 5k-6k with almost no end date on their usefulness.. they are exceedingly powerful.

I agree they are powerful, IF you've spent the kind of money to get them there. Saying the 100mil or so I've spent on my imps to makes them powerful is like saying you spending 100 mil on a couple of relayers is powerful. Of course it is. Do I or anyone else deserve to have something that's good for that kind of money and time of game play...I think so. 5 imps that are fresh out of crystal that if you bought costs approximately 5 million for that I could buy a bio that would own them. Imps are nearly useless until you get hp up. Let's say you just put each one up to 400hp, that' close to 200 ointments*5500(exex as of today)*5 imps=5.5million not counting the regs for that. So now you're in 10.5mil for some imps that can kill most normal enemies but unless you have very high vet and can spam cast heals still can't beat any of the harder peerless.

I think 100 mil is a bit high..
I'd also like to point out a much cheaper route, farming the oints yourself. There are places on this shard where you can get 50+ oints an hour. Just doing the GoC you are going to stumble on 100's of oints. Suddenly this over powered pet is for free..
There could be one change that may make a different, rather then one oint and you create the specific oint later with regs. Why not do them like Essense and the drops be the specific type of oint and not a generic one. The would add a new dimension to the game, oints and pets. Then if you have a maxed out imp pet, you went far and wide for it.

-1000 hp
-up to 370 str
-double damage
-pack instinct ( another double damage)
-1 pet slot
-no stat loss
I don't see how that is not too powerful for a pet that you can get for just ~10 mill. Plus they are really hurting the breeders of the shard.

If the fail rate of breeding wasn't pushing people out of breeding, it might be a viable option. Ask Highroller what he thinks of the fail rate.
Imps on Champ Bosses = Overpowered
Imps in dungeon Crawling Situations = Overpowered
Imps on Peerless = Needed if you want to Solo them
To solo, Even with a good pack of imps on Chief Paroxysmus is still quite a challenge.
(there are a few non Peerless Monsters that using the imps are worthwhile, but not many)
I don't know the reason why they created imps in the first place, but I always thought it was to give people the option to Solo anything in the game. Getting imps and building them up is fun, I like having them.
I really think that the fail rate of breeding is what's making the Imps more common. People are almost forced to get Imps. If it was easier to breed our own endless army of pets, i think people would do that more often, instead it's just easier to get Imps and farm oints.

Well imps should be like the next level on the pet's ladder... I started with an Ice Worm given by a guildie... then got nobles/mules and now upgrading to the imps / bios. I doubt any newbie can jump from a Rune Beetle/CU to a imp that easily, unless of course you donate and have enough dough to buy the imps maxxed or out of the crystal. So, breeders are still needed for the time being... please support your local breeder!!!

You're right, I did accidentally multiply by 2, but 50mil is much more accurate. 50mil is still a boatload of money. As for farming, I did, but if I would have sold them I could have pocketed the money and applied towards relayers or whatever else I felt the need to spend on. So to me I "spent" the gold.

I love this idea and think this would be a great change.

my only issue with the imp pets is when people price them too cheap.. I think with breeding what I find there is no extra value to a 2 or 3 slot pet.. and some of those balances are all over the place.. 5 imprisoned pets is fine.. but you can only hold two of the tamable caster the imp... and its two slot status gives it nothing extra...
the same goes for many 3 slot pets.. we have big 3 slot wyrm that take forever to breed fail and sterile tonnes.. those pets when maxxed should be something over a 1 slot pet but they are identical properly leveled and ointed..
if those things were adressed in a good way obviously not to make more rediculous things.. but if the 2 and 3 slot pets had more use and value beyond a Cu or a Rune.. you might see them more often.. or people outside of the breeding profession buying follower slots.. right now there is no demand because 9/10 2 and 3 slot pets are equal or wores to a 1 slot pet..
you want an economy to develop around breeding at pets make the biggies mean something.. my two cents
no nerfing anyones anything.. the rareness is about right the prices are about right most of the time. no big adjustment needed just proportions to things surrounding it..
