I had to leave out several of my best/favorite songs for each category based on incompatibility with shard rules..not easy to find a radio-edit of some songs (like one of the only tolerable songs by Mindless Self Indulgence, let alone a twangy remake of one of the only Jay-Z songs I've ever liked ).

For some reason, I've been connecting with The Antlers album Hospice. It's truly an album in that it has a narrative and fair warning it's very depressing. It's an allegory about a dysfunctional relationship told through the lens of a hospice worker and patient. If you have Amazon Prime, you can listen to the whole album ad free on Amazon Music.

I listened to all these! 'Happy' is on my list too. And Loreena McKennett; my favorite of hers is 'Mystic's Dream'. The songs of an Eos are all generally wordless groovy electronica. I can't -not- dance when they come on. I recommend their videos also!

Who that was a long list and really so many missing. I deal with other peoples problems every day so I was surprised how often I need to turn to these. Keep saying maybe I should get a new job. but thats what UO is for.

i hate to be the obscure guy but being from texas raised by redneck hippies, i grew up listening to alot of texas music. there is one song that has always stuck with me and until the other day i was unable to find it. i started digging hard and found out that when the artist died in 2009 from cancer his music collection was left in the hands of his family who didnt support his music career. they have removed his music from all forms of production and aquisition. thanks to stubborn people who just flat out dont care about the law, i found it on youtube under a different name. His name was rusty wier and he was a cowboy/hippie in the 60's and 70's working with willie nelson and his crew alot. he played the same bar in austin every thurs day for 15 years straight only missing 3 shows, even after writing and selling "dont it make you wanna dance" to bonnie raitt to be used on the urban cowboy soundtrack. if youre interested in checking out the song i love, a song for coby, i am posting this link. if you get there and its no longer available, its probably because his family found it and had it removed.
