Disconnection issues

Post by Cygnus »

I am having router connection issues whenever I play UO. :verymad:
My connection seems to be pretty solid when I am not gaming. I was wondering if any network gurus can help me out.
It is getting to the point to where I do not feel like getting on anymore. ( I hate rejection)
First some history/data:
I run on DSL
I recently bought a new Linksys WRT610N v2 router for my house network.
I had this same problem with my WRT54G
I am playing UOEX wired to it so I am getting 100mhz connection.
My modem is a westell and is bridged to the router
My router is set up for PPPoE
The router is perched on 3 points so I get plenty of air flow unnderneath it. It does not feel too warm

It seems to me that my router just gets a data overload and decides to shut down. I could be wrong.

I have had my checked my internet connection and it is just fine.

I was wondering if I should go to my Application and Gaming tab and set up some single port forwarding or DMZ for Excelsior but that is something I havent messed with before and need someone to walk me thru it.

If there is anyone playing with a Linksys router and not having issues, I would love to see how you have yours set up.

And for those of you who would suggest to dump Linksys and buy another router, ya I already heard that and that is not an option.....yet.
