testing mining gear

was told that mining gear only affects smelting so i'm testing this out so far:

without mining gear: (120)

1) 6 ores 2 elemental.
2) 2 ores 2 elemental
3) 6 ores 4 elemental
4) 6 ores 2 elemental
5) 2 ores 2 elemental
6) 5 ores 2 elemental
7) 2 ores 1 elemental
8) 7 ores 1 elemental
9) 4 ores (i suspect someone was here)
10) 9 ores

total tools:
25 tinkering
45 blacksmithing
total plat ores: 49
16 ele's

with mining gear (142)

1) 8 ores 1 elemental
2) 12 ores 1 elemental
3) 8 ores
4) 12 2 elementals
5) 8 ores 3 elemental

7) 12 ores 3 elementals
8) 10 ores 2 elementals
9) 18 ores 4 elementals
10) 6 ores 2 elemental

In conclusion: he is correct your chances of summoning an elemental is higher while wearing gear. now there are some factors you have to take in account: 1) just plain luck (non gear luck), 2) someone might have started mining then stopped depleting that ore sport, 3) how often you eat i think affects this.

Not only more ellies but you dug up significantly more plat ore as well meaning higher skill affects smelting, mining and chances to spawn ellies. Thanks for sharing.

yeah i didn't include how much more ore i got after smelting it but eh was bored thought i'd do some testing. next is doom vs luck (but i have to wait till no one is in there. :O)

Difference is only 2 elementals, I wouldn't draw conclusions from that yet since there is the random factor in it. Would need a few more mining rounds. Just thought to point it out.

yuppers but i succeeded more in my mining success too. for example i mined up twice as much ingots. but you are right more tests are needed. wanna help?
