Hello!

I'm playing for a few days on Excelsior and returning to UO from 5 years brake :)
Seems I remember a lot from other shards I still have some questions:

1. Where can I find BOD books and runebooks?
2. Who drops T-maps?
3. Where to find druidic reagents?
4. Do houses decay?
5. Where can I buy Wood Worker's Keys and other keyrings?
6. Why do ore, logs, fish I gather fall (not always) to the ground?

Seems It's all for now; Thanks in advance for help

Hello and welcome to your new home, ill try to answer all of your questions.

1. You can either buy these from player vendors, or ask someone with GM inscription to make them for you.

2. There are alot of things that drop T Maps im not certain on all but i know peerless drop them regularly.

3. Only place ive found them is on the reg stone in trinsic. (red stone on the end)

4. Houses dont decay like normal here, you dont need to auto refresh them either. They will be delete after a long while i hear if you do not log in but ive hear anywhere from 6+ months of not logging in.

5. You can buy these from player vendors also, or find someone who has GM Tinker and GM of the other skills needed to make them, at GM there is 50-50 chance for most, and some are more expensive to make so prices vary. Pm me in game sometime ill see if i have any laying arround.

6. The only reason i can think they would fall to the ground is if your pack is to full weight wise, or you have went over your item limit in your pack.

Hope this helps you out if you have any questions feel free to ask here or in game.

Another set of questions: :D

1. What is:
- sturdy shovel?
- jeweled filigree?
- magic jewelry?
- acid proof rope?
2. How to make traps? Where to find faction silver?
3. Where to find recipes needed to make some things (ie. some magic jewelry)
4. How to make ordinary keyrings?
5. What can I identify with a skill or a wand?

1)Sturdy Shovel = shovel with 150 -180 uses (not for sure on the number of uses) It is also a bod reward for Blacksmithing.

2) Unsure. Unsure what yah mean by magic jewelery... erm looted jewelry or crafted. Acid Proof is a GoC item, drops of a Peerless boss.

3) Heartwood Grove. (it is in Yew west of the red gate to yew) Click the mushrooms in the area to find things to buy... like recipes.

4) Don't think you can make them any more... Have to buy them off the green Trinisic stone outside of the bank.

5) Nothing... the skill and the ID wand's are a useless skill and item, respectively...
Criticism is good because it improves upon what came before, and solidifies the strongest of foundations.

I don't think you'll find any faction silver here as the faction pvp system is not active. On shards with faction pvp you gain faction silver either through killing your faction monster (Silver serpants, wisps etc) or killing an opposing faction player.

As for item ID I don't think you can ID anything with it any more. It was a skill used pre Age of Shadows when item properties were much different. There was no such thing as faster casting, mana regen, hit chance increase etc. When you looted a magic weapon it was unidentified and you had to use the skill/want/staff to ID it. Weapons and armor were either Crap/Decent/Good/Cool/Baller (I forget all the names except Vanquishing for weapons). Long story short it's a legacy skill.

Just found this shard and I can't tell you how impressed I am with it. I am once again enjoying playing this game. Once upon a time I played the other game and I just couldn't take it any more and left after eleven years of play. No other game is as much fun so finding you has put the fun back in my game play. I am slowly learning all the great things about this game and thanks to this thread have found answers to lots of questions I have. It is humiliating though I have to say to get pretty much owned by giant rats after so long as a GM. Now just need to find things like runebooks, a house, and of course a full spellbook. Thank you so much for being such a great community

It's always nice to see new people enjoying our shard. My name is Albino, Lord of the Malas Desert (self-proclaimed). PM me in game if you require a hand in getting settled, finding hunting spots, etc. :D

Is it possible to buy gold on this shard? I am finding no end of trouble to being brand new with nothing and no money watching my two weeks run out on my incredible sword. It might not seem like much to you who are playing for a long time, but gold is very tough to get when you are a low level and you can only get monsters that average maybe if you are lucky 200 gold pieces. No I'm not really complaining as I love this shard already, just would like to get to a point where I can get more done,

Oh and why is it I cannot find any full runebooks on the shard? I have looked at vendors till I am green with envy, but no precious runebooks. Thank you!

You can donate and then sell the ED. 10 Euros will get you 4-5mil depending on the ED price of the day.

200 gold per monster is pretty good IMO, even for a vet, but I realize a Vet could take them down much quicker.

I don't think too many ppl sell runebooks with marked runes already in them. Buy an empty runebook and fill it yourself. If you don't have your Magery up, pick up a 100% LRC suit and max it up quick quick.

But yea, a starting donation helps so much at the begining.

When I was young, I bopped between Despise lvl2, the rat quest, and the Demon Temple. Those were my favorite hunting spots as a youngin'. You can also start a crafting skill and do BoDs. Though the payout isn't that much initially, it will get better as your skill improves. I have a miner/blacksmith/carpenter secondary character that I love to play as it breaks up the monotony of bashing monsters all of the time.
