I was wondering if its just me or no. but when I try to lock some stuff down(decorated related) that it doesn't go up against the walls I want it too. But I can get some things to do so and some doesn't. I know the drop and move items around till it turns, moves, etc.. but nothing on some items that Id wish to have there.
Secondly custom houses.. I notice has orange color on parts that cant work (for whatever reason) I was wondering if there was a way around this to make them custom and not have to "settle" for something else?
edit- Also wanted to ask if I could have staff move items inside the house to where Id like it since it doesn't work for me? Also maybe figured it would be pay some in game gold for staff to move it.

try getting an interior decorator from the real estate agent / architecht...i forget who has them.
they're about 10k gold and let you move things up and down as well as flip them if they are able to be flipped.
In regards to orange stuff in custom houses, make sure it is supported by walls and if it's a stair case to remove the tiles above it.

Is there a way to move stuff to the edge of the walls that I can not do? Like maybe staff can? Or in general move other things in places that I can not do?
I know it says custom on a house but really we are limited on what to make for flooring/walls/roofs since if something isnt working it will stay highlighted orange till we fix it. Just wondering if we can make it to which it really custom and the way us players want it by disabling/removing the orange highlighted notice to make us change it to something else that works.

One of the tricks to use is to lock items down, then place the walls, borders or railing. This will allow you to place items on the south and east side edge of a space.
As for orange areas when designing. There is no way around them. You must place proper supports for floors and wall. No floating castles that have no first floor at all, however cool that might sound.
