A few questions

I would like to introduce myself. I am Jessianna guild leader of the newly formed T^E (The Emporium) guild. We are a small guild of 9 members (possible more to come). Some of my members have come to me with questions that of course I can not answer as of yet so I figured I would try here instead of paging

1) We have been searching now for a couple days for an area large enough to place houses. Is there some place that has enough open land to do this? We are currently all living out of a single 18/18.

2) there are items on the vendor stones (token,gold etc) that we are not sure of what they are. Is there someway we can find out information on what these items are? IE invisibility shroud.

3) Members of my guild and I are big on donations. But most (not all) are from the US. We noticed that this server is euro. Do you guys run specials for those of us who aren't from the area? As in for a given amount of time ed is on a one dollar for the 10 ed?
IE: it would cost us 1.35 to = 1 euro. And in large amounts of say 200 usd would only be 147.85 euros. Thats a huge hit on our end.

4) Several of us are having issues with the journal crashing our clients. Is this normal? What can we do on our end to fix this.

5) Some of us also have issues with the client crashing instead of allowing us to simply log out. Meaning, tick the log out button and confirm to exit, client turns non responsive and crashes. Which in return does not save any changes made to the screen (spell placements, key bindings etc).
Does not matter which program is used to launch, be either razor or assistuo.

6) Out of memory error with assistuo. No issue with razor. Only way to fix this is to close gaming apps like Lcore.exe which is used for keybindings on gaming pads,keyboards or mouse (razor has a similar app as well that has to be closed. )

I think that was all I've been hit with on my four days on the server..hehe I am sure with all the questions I have been asked and raided the Wiki + forums I have missed some. So if anything new comes up I will just edit or add to this topic

Loving it here btw! Everyone so far is amazed by the challenge and balance!

First off, welcome to you andyour guild to the shard. I am pretty certain you have found your home here at Excelsior. I will try to answer some of your questions in the order you asked them. Hopefully, those with more knowledge can fill in what I miss to answer.

1. Yes there is room, especially for individual houses, but you really have to search high and low for them. Also, don't forget to scout out Magda Luna and Magda Umbra areas. You can find those areas under Malas facet.

2. Since there are so many custom items on this shard, the best bet would be to just plain ask in world chat about them. And if I am not mistaken, an Invisibility Shroud is linked to the person who bought it so to sell it to another is wrong. Please don't buy one from a player vendor unless you hear otherwise. If you see anything that says account bound on it, it is bound to the person who received it first, no one else can use it.

3. No specials for donations for us outside the Euro world, however the shard frequently holds donation bonuses for everyone during certain months. Keep an eye out for announcements from the Town Criers and on this forum.

4. Unfortunately, journal crashes are at this time normal for everyone. They are working on a fix. If you log on and it is working, just don't touch it again. Once you try to close it or open it again, you will most likely crash, but not always.

5. As far as client is crashing on logout, no idea there. Some of our more knowledgeable hopefully can jump in here with a possible fix. Make sure your guild members are patched to the latest though.

6. I don't use Assist UO so again, I will have to defer to those who do use it. Don't hesitate to ask this kind of question in World Chat. Also, don't hesitate to send me a PM with a question. If I can't answer it, I will find someone who should be able to help you.

Thank you for the reply. I will pass the answers on to those who have asked.

One of my guildies thinks she might have figured out the reason for the out of memory error for some of us Seems it might have something to do with the use of teamspeaks overlay. Was able to turn it off and the out of memory error as since not been a problem. Will have to have another guildie try it out and see if it fixes his issue.

We have not seen a the invis robe on a vendor. A member seen it on the token stone and asked me what it was. Course my best bet is put it on and you're invis or it takes the look of an ethereal (see thru).

Again thank you for your time. We appreciate the time you took to reply and opening yourself up for more questions might turn out to be more than you ask for lol. My guildies love to learn and soak up as much info as they can.

Being Guild Leader of the Ghost Walkers Let me also extend my Welcome to you and your guildmates. As Cygnus has already said I think you will find a nice home here. On your questions of housing I know for a fact that there are several large plots open on the ice island off the Deciet world porter that may meet your needs. And as far as question 5 and the crashing problem, if you are using Window 7 or 8 make sure to run all of the program you are using for UO in compatibility mode for Win XP SP3 and also run as administrator. That may help I'm not sure. Feel free to pm me in game if you have any questions.
