My son and I have been playing for the last couple of weeks using the same account. We each have a character that we use on that account. He is really loving the game. In a few weeks, he will be getting his own laptop, so he will be getting his own account. We have seen the request for that, and plan to do it when he gets his laptop. Would it be possible to transfer his character to the new account so that he would not have to start from scratch? He does not have any high level items or pets or anything, just would not like to have to start from a totally new character skill wise.
Thanks.

Re: Transfer character
Under shard rules ... it is against the rules to share your account for any reason ...Even with a son or daughter... with that being said ... no you cannot transfer a character from one account to another from my knowledge...
Re: Transfer character
Technically yes that is not allowed though you are not the first that I have heard of, where a son/daughter (very young, under 10 years old) occasionally plays, right on an alt character. We haven't yet banned anyone because of this, the rule is aimed more towards, for example, giving your account info to a friend so that they can use both accounts at the same time. And as a precaution, because if someone uses it and your account gets banned because of it, it's basically your fault. I assume he's playing under your supervision.
As for separating the character, there is currently no way to have that done. It is technically possible to transfer skills (and then the items you can transfer yourself) but it's not available.
Best advice I can give in your situation is for your son to start playing on his own account. Since his character isn't yet highly trained up, it's not going to be a big problem (especially since most skills are rather easy to train up here).

Re: Transfer character
Did not know that.
He is 11, and I have been showing him the game. I hadn't played in about 9 years, and just found this shard. It will be nice to be able to play together when he gets his own laptop.
Is it possible to move an account from one computer to another? I will get another account, but I would hate to have to wait until he gets a computer for him to play if he can't transfer an account.

Re: Transfer character
The account is basically on the server, your computer only has some configuration files to remember your settings (whether sound/music is enabled, text color and font, macros). So he can start playing from your computer. When he gets his computer, he will simply download the game and install it, then enter his username & password and it will all be there. You can optionally transfer the folder named "Desktop" from the client folder, that is where all the settings are.
To make an account for him, type [account and there you will see the option to request a new account for a member of the household. Please take a few minutes to carefully read the disclaimer there. The account is instantly created (and these creations/requests are later reviewed).

Re: Transfer character
Made the new account.
Is there a way to make a character from the 2nd account a co-owner of a house on the first account by only using one computer?

Re: Transfer character
If you open up two clients and log into both accounts, yes. Is it allowed on this server, I didn't see anything explicitly prohibiting it with a quick look at the codex
