New Player doesn't know stuff

Hi, I'm new here and from Germany. Really like the server. Played some UO but not on official maps, they were all custom. Got some questions. Asking here, because I dont like to spam the chat with nooby questions ^^

- I got Razor to work. What do you recommend for fixed resolution with Razor on a 24". I tried 1024x720 but kinda laggy especially around the corners. Or should I just continue to play around with some resolutions?

- Where can I find shovels (or a saw for logs -> boards) ? I bought one from an NPC (dont know which one) used it a bit and it broke, now I dont know where to get one. Can't craft one because no ingots because no shovel. Only found one at a players shop with 50k uses for 30k gold.

- Is there treasure hunting on this server? If yes, is it worth it at all? I want to play some archer thingy with treasure hunting.

Shovels/pickaxes can be bought from miner NPCs (there's a mine east of minoc), bought from player vendors or from [exex (please see the ExEx entry on the wiki.)

There IS treasure hunting. As to its value, you'll have to judge for yourself, I think.

I use 1000x700. The corners are greyed out because the server doesn't send the information that far from the character. It's par for the course.

Easiest is exex. Drop some gold in one of the small, light blue Exec chests you see around (there's one by west britain bank) and then type "[exex" on your chat line. They're currently selling for 1.5 gold per use where one dig is a use. You can buy as many uses as you want so you only have to carry around one shovel.

You can also check http://vendors.uoex.net to see if any player vendors are selling a smaller number of uses than 50k.

Yes, and treasure hunting was recently revamped and improved to make it more enjoyable.

However, I recommend against jumping directly there. The early game is heavily weighted in favor of animal taming. Breeding allows for strong animals, much stronger than your character will be for at least a couple months. You can find decent ones in the young player donation chests reachable by gate from Town Center. Work up your Veterinary skill so you can keep them alive and you'll be off to a running start.
