Remove art tag/weapon lvl deed

I have a question, I'm sorry if the answer is already written somewhere.

Can you lvl a weapon to 100 NPS, and then remove arty tag on it, and then spend the full points without the "artifact tag" penalty?

I feel like I heard this, but before I buy a lvl deed, and lvl a weapon I want to make sure I can take the Arty Tag off without any issues.

I'm assuming you can, as I tested it on another arty. Being an artifact justs cost double points, so I'm assuming if i don't spent any points, I can remove arty at lvl 100, and then spend all the points for their normal cost.

Does anyone know for sure??

INb4 just use remove artifact tag now. I don't have the ED's now, but I'd like to start on the long road to lvling it. It's my first BC.

Yes, you can level it before and then remove the tag and have no penalty.

The other thing you can do is use a weapon change deed at some point to make it easier to level, which will also remove the arty tag.
