Feeding Bucket

Post by TribalInstincts »

Evening all!

Can anyone provide some information on the Feeding Buckets and their use? I can't seem to find any information on them either in the wiki or in the forums. +R gave some details in game a few weeks back however I don't want to risk repeating them incorrectly so I would be very grateful if anyone could provide some solid facts.

I attempted to use mine last night for the first time by way of leaving a mule standing on top of it. He was there for probably 18 hours or so while my character was in the same building 3 floors down however when I came back he was Extremely Unhappy. I was under the impression that the feeding buckets would keep the pets perpetually fed. Is my understanding incorrect and it just slows the process?

The way i understand it, while they are training on a trainer as long as you are the house main owner, they will keep fed

I know there was a bug with this last year where if the server had an issue while pets were at a feeding bucket, the pet wouldn't recognize it after the reboot. I'm not 100% sure it got fixed so I'll mention this thread to +C

Yes that was a bug and it was fixed, so it should have worked at this reboot. I'll come by and see where the bucket was and where the mule was.

It was not training at the time, just standing on it. Perhaps some action has to happen to trigger the feed?

I now have a trainer so we will see if that makes a differences.
Per +C's advice in game I am keeping the bowl 1 tile away from the pet. In this case it is under the trainer itself with the pets attacking the trainer.

It is working now. Not sure if it was the bowls placement or the act of attacking the trainer that did the trick.
