Out of Memory - Windows 10

Hi all,

First off, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Chris, and in-game I will go by Blaine (Lucidian Blaine). I have played UO in the past, but just now coming back to it. I am from the USA. I chose Excelsior because I saw that it was #1 on the Top 100, and I really want a server that I can feel at home at. I love to RP.

Anyway, I read through the post about Razor and the Virtual Memory Problems, but I don't see too much about windows 10 (that I understand). I'm trying a complete restart, and I'm not running any additional programs (as was pointed out in the previous post). I'm not super familiar with Windows 10 yet, but I right clicked My PC (the old My Computer, I assume), and don't see anything about RAM. I get the out of memory message whenever I try to open the client via Razor, or directly from the Excelsior folder.

Any and all help is appreciated - thanks in advance!

Is this fix supposed to work for win7 and uosteam as well..? If so is there anything special that needs doing, cause it doesn't work for me...Atm I'm starting my computer up, closing a couple of programs like Razor Synapse and whatever else I can find, then I start uosteam and that gives me roughly a 70% chance to start UO...If that fails, I have to reboot to try again and it's getting a bit old...

I can't speak for uosteam but it definitely works for razor and the UO client under 64-bit win7 pro.

From the docs, it has major caveats about 32-bit windows (any version) and machines with 4 gigs or less memory.

If your taskbar down by the clock is a smorgasbord, consider using msconfig to remove all the crapware from your automatic startup process. Really, you don't need java quickstart, java automatic update, google automatic update, adobe manager, etc. to run all the time.

Using Large address aware i found that i needed it directed to the app i was using to open the game, be that razor, uo assist, or any other one. once its configured properly i have not had a memory error since.

I just hit razor the moment I see the desktop following a clean boot and it always works
