Young Status and Total Skill Points

My account is now four days old and I've created two characters. One is near 1k skill points, the other has 123. I was told in-game that skill points for all characters count towards the 1k total triggering the loss of "young" status for ALL characters on the account. Can anyone confirm? I'd like to train my lower skilled character in all crafting skills and the higher skilled in all combat skills and it would be great if I could stay "young" just a bit longer while I work on crafting. I've checked the Wiki but it doesn't address this particular question.

You'll most likely regret that sooner or later for a variety of reasons. Focus on one character, there's no skillcap, no point in making separate warrior and crafter.

And no, you can't have a young character if the other has already lost this status.
