Returning player after a hard life

Hello:

I am a returning player to the shard, and I miss playing it.

Long story short, I had a really rough patch: got laid off, lost my mom, lost my house, partner left me, got sick, got medical bills, had to rebuild myself. Wasn't able to log in and preserve my really, really nice house, so I lost it. It happens, and I don't expect special treatment.

Now I am finally back to being a fully functioning adult and I want to rebuild my house. I don't want to buy a house, as mine was absolutely beautiful and well designed.

When I logged back in, I had TONS of mail asking me if I would be willing to sell it. I wish I had done so. I'm basically starting over.

I am mostly a lumber/carpenter and if people need things made, I can make it for you (unless I am missing the recipe). Any business is appreciated! I am not asking for a handout. It's been years since I played, and I really miss this shard/game/community.

My main character names are Paul Bunyan, and Aegis. It's been so long since I played I really don't even know where to begin, so I'm going to just be lumbering away and selling wooden shields. A guild would be nice, especially with experienced players who can give me direction.

Glad to be back. It brings a tear to my eye. :)

Welcome back!

Not sure how long ago you played but as you've probably been able to tell things have changed a little and things have also slowed down a bit.

A good guild would probably be HLP, it's a beginners guild but they have an active player base and you could get in there so you can get your bearings back.

Welcome back, sorry to hear about your situation. I see your ticket in-game, on my way.

Welcome home! I also came back to UO and found this shard in a hard part of my life, I know the feeling. There is something ever so comforting about escaping into Brittannia for some R and R.

If you talk to people in game you'll be surprised just how many people have gone or are going thru rough times right now. I can't tell you the number of people that play that have serious health issues and use UOEX to try and get their mind off of things and "escape from reality". To many people UOEX is much more then just a game.

I want to thank everyone who reached out to me and welcomed me back!

The compassion and kindness shown to me have been nothing short of angelic. I feel almost undeserving....

I am well on my way to rebuilding my beautiful house of which I am so proud. Thankfully, I found some old pics of it in my facebook I had uploaded to show it off, and I can rebuild it nearly identically from how it was before....

........now I just need 300k gold to finalize it LOL

So, I am selling empty potion kegs and boards, and any furniture anyone needs, as well. Please hit me up and I'll make it for you at a good price.

Again, I wanted to thank everyone who reached out to me and showed me all this love. It is very welcome and therapeutic :) The shard has changed a lot since I last played, and I admit I am overwhelmed and my focus and direction is a bit skewed, so I'll just concentrate on lumbering away!

I completed my house! I'm extremely proud of it, and I would love to show it off to anyone who wants to see! Message me in game and come hang out :)

Thanks again to all who assisted me and continue to do so. This is a wonderful shard.

Congrats on completing your house and I'm sorry to hear about the hard times you've been going through. Hopefully Excelsior can give you the respite and escape that you need.
