First off I have been away from UO for I guess a really long time. what are the tokens used for and how do use them.

Second I just died for the first time....did my pet die as well I got message about my pet losing half of something due to his untimely death. Is there a way to get my pet back

While you are dying most messages won't show on screen. One of those messages was probably "Your pet has died."

There is a token vendor stone with things for sale.

if it said your pet lost ability points that means that it was bonded so it can be resurrected back to life. you first have to find the ghost of the pet first. it looks like a grey version of the pet, once you find that either have someone else res it for you or bring it to a pet res stone(there is one in the taming grounds)
