Help with connecting?

I've downloaded the pre patched version and went to open it. I went to make an account but it says, "Cannot connect to Ultima Online please try again later."

Did I forget something? Do I need to have the ORIGINAL UO installed too? Or just the one that's here? Thanks.

I'm not sure what the issue you are having is, but I will confirm that downloading the client from the main page is all you need to get into the game.
You don't need the original UO installed since the one you download from here is already a modified and pre-patched UO client.

I made it on! Thanks so much. Razor was giving me issues it looks like so I deleted it completely.

Oh yes, Razor is slightly bothersome to configure because the shard's client uses a custom install path and that really seems to throw Razor off.

Inside your UO directory (which should be C:\Program Files\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard) is a folder called RAZOR HOWTO. Inside this are some instructions to make Razor work. Assuming you left the install path as I stated above, you simply need to run the file named: "C_ProgramFiles"

Next:
You also need to change the settings on the pre-login screen of Razor to point them toward the shard.
The Load Client field should be pointed to client.exe in the C:\Program Files\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard folder
Turn on patch encryption
Turn off OSI encryption
The UO Data Directory field should be pointed to C:\Program Files\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard
The server field should read: shard.uoex.net
The port is 60. If this causes trouble, try port 2593. But 60 should work. I read that 2593 somehow worked better for Vista (which I use), and it did seem to work for me whereas 60 caused a few issues.
Lastly click the button labeled Make These Settings Default. This is very important.

Then click Okay and it should all work.
Once you get it running properly you can uncheck the box at the bottom that says "Show this when Razor starts" to give you one less button to click every time.

I have followed all directions to a T, even uninstalled and reinstalled everything, and I'm stuck at verifying. I am patched to 5.0.9.1 (patch 46). Razor still will not connect! I've tried both ports as well. Any ideas?
