i just rented a vendor but i don't know how to place items into his backpack and add a price tag on the goods. how do you do that? when i double click on the vendor a gump pops up but there isn't anything in the options that will allow me to do so.

please help. thanks

The first option in the gump is "See goods" ... that will open the vendor's inventory bag. Just put something in the bag and it will prompt you for the price. Type it in and there you go.

If you need to correct a price, pull the item out into your pack or bankbox or whatever and then place it back in the vendor's pack. Otherwise you can move the item around inside the vendor's pack without affecting the price.

If you cancel the price when prompted (by hitting Esc), the item becomes "Not for sale."

You can add a description to the item by typing the text following the price (on the same line).

that really stinks. i bought a vendor on sunday. paid the 15k, and now monday it was gone. paged a gm and he said you have to have gold on the vendor or else they go poof. grrr. do i really want to invest in another one right now? all i was putting on him was stuff a newbie could use at a really cheap price. all weapons were under 300 and all rings/amulets were under 300 also, plus there were tools (saws, planes, etc..) there were in there for under 50. ah well. maybe i'll do it but i don't know how to give the vendor some gold.
