Sure, here are the steps...

1.) Donate 30 bucks or Collect 10 million gold
2.) Hand me 275 ED or 10 million gold
3.) Receive Gem of Completion! =D

Just kidding!...unless that is an option for you. The guide is a very nice touch on starting the quest. A few tidbits I'd add are for the people starting the quest, it's best to begin at Sanctuary. In my opinion, when looking at the difficulty of monsters in each area and not taking into consideration the drop rate/number of items, the following is the order of areas from least to greatest difficulty:

Sanctuary --> Blighted Grove --> Labyrinth --> Bedlam --> Palace of Paroxyamus --> Prism of Light.....and here's why.

***Key: Know your exits...

Sanctuary: Most monsters here are easy with pets. The Fire Ruby Dragon hits hard with firebreath, but I don't think it can kill a 1000 Hp pet in one breath (at least, I don't remember it ever happening to me). I suggest renaming your pets to A, B, C, D, and E. Attack the dragon and heal accordingly, until he hits one of your pets with firebreath. If he hits pet A, then "A follow me" until he comes to you and the dragon switches targets to another pet of yours. If you are quick, you can heal your pet to full just in time to call the next pet to you to do the same. Netopir is a longer fight, but not as involved in my opinion. Cast poison field on him to distract his magic from damage to constant curing. Use a Cu Sidhe (Or 2 if you have 6 slots), they have a natural resistance to area drains. Sit back and shoot away with your bow, or cast on him until he dies. Long fight, but pretty much a 99% drop rate for his key.

Blighted Grove: Again, key is keeping pets between you and them. The abcess (Hydras) can be nasty in numbers, but multiple maxed pets (nobles, mules, ostards, imprisioned animals) and the use of discordance gives you an edge. The other monsters are not really anything of concern, just be ready to use purge alot. Lady Mel, on the other hand, can be a trip. With me, she has summoned between 4 and about 20 Satyrs in my battles with her. Key with her is poison field and keeping you finger hovering over the tab button. Even though the Satyrs peace you, when they walk into your poison field they will attack you and trigger you to auto retaliate. Once she is down, loot quickly because she is known for her occasionally quick respawn. Don't forget to look for imprisoned animals on her.

Labyrinth: The key here is NO pets. Well, no running through with pets. Straight-up fighting in this area with pets more often times than not, will result in death and pet stat loss. The key is to fight in isolation. If you do it right, the only crowds you should see while gathering pieces are the sharks and young skorps. Slaaron is pretty straight-up, just keep up with the healing of the one pet. He hits too often and too hard to do the call back and heal tactic that you can do with the FIre Ruby Dragon in Sanctuary.

Bedlam: Pets are okay here, but in minimal use. Using Banish Evil is helpful here. You will more than likely do some camping in the crypt area, since the pieces down there are notorious for taking a while to drop, paired with the slow respawn time of the monster holding the piece. Killing the grizzle is easier with Cu Sidhes (Two of them), but he is still rather annoying. He is known for changing targets and his crazy life draining range and rate of use is harsh. Heal heal heal your Cu and watch your own health too, while standing at a distance.

Palace of Paroxy: You have some traveling to do. Also, this is one giant scavenger hunt. You have to acquire a set of 8 pieces per attempt to kill Lord Parox. Poison eveywhere...lol. Also, Succubi and some monsters that can one-hit kill you. I would loot all bodyparts you find (within reason, not if you have 10 right arms), just for later use. Pets can be out at all times down there, but they are in danger with a few monsters even if the battle is your 5 pets on one monster. Lord parox is a long and involved battle which typically requires the help of a couple other players in healing pets and killing his summoned monsters. At least one maxed HP biopet is highly recommended.

Prism of Light: Another long travel. Pets shouldn't be out at all times down here as well. There are many monsters here that can one-hit kill you and can 2-3 hit kill or 1-2 firebreath kill your pets. Hiding and Stealth are crucial skills in this area. The hydras are nasty, as well as pretty much anything else there in numbers of 3 or more. Crystal giants are also very heavy hitters. The main attraction, Shimmering Effusion, is nothing in comparison to the Ice Wyrm. This guy eats regular pets for breakfast and can bring maxed HP biopets to 100-300 hitpoints with its roughly 2800 damage firebreath when he is at full health. A bio pet, multiple fast hitting pets (Nobles) and many healers are recommended with him.

These are some specifics, but mostly general and vague. I didn't want to ruin the whole surprise for you. =) I would just suggest the following for all areas:

1.) Make note of all exits, ankhs, and corners/spots where you can stand out of the line-of-sight of monsters.
2.) Have a Cu Sidhe for the drainer monsters
3.) Know that pets are not always the answer
4.) Stealth in and scope out the area before fighting
5.) Use poison field on the big monsters that are affected by it
6.) Loot and store extra pieces used to summon monsters

Also understand that it will take you some time to get your first Gem of Completion. It's quite an acomplishiment though...

PM me if you have any questions.

You should add that to the wiki, Licos.
