Basics about crafting!

Hello guys, this might sound like a bit of a newbie question (sorry about that!), but i never had a crafter in all the years i played UO. I GMed all crafting skills here, but now i want to make better items, magical ones, so i am collecting a lot of small BODS of anykind to conbine them with large BODS and receive the rewards, runic tools, etc. But i still don't understand some basic things, i read the whole stratics crafting guide and i still have some doubts, i will enumerate them below:

1) how does the system work to add magical properties to a weapon?
2) what is the correct use of a runic tool? is it ok to use it to "enhance" a weapon? or just to craft?
3) is it worth to enhance items that i find as loot? it just add some basic properties (like lower requirements, or a distribution of the damage by the elemments), but i still don't see if a magical property is modified or added into the item.
4) I see that some people have some ubber items, i saw some crafted by Ra'Met and others, and they have some really nice properties, what's the way to make these? they just craft them using a runic tool?
5) How can i craft magical jewelry?
6) How can i add magical properties into a spellbook? i make spellbooks with gm scribing but they just look like regular ones.

I know that some of these questions can be googled, but i preferred to ask them all here, just because maybe there are some changes in the server about the official about this theme and only you can enlight me. I will appreciate a lot your assistance, and thank you all for reading.
See you ingame!

Although there are better crafters out there than I, I will try my best to answer your questions based on what I have experienced. If anyone knows of anything to the contrary than what I have written, please correct.

1. Each ore/wood/leather enhances certain properties but as far as the shard unique ones, I cannot tell you what each one enhances the most. Platinum/Petrified/Ethreal are the best in each category. They will also give youthe most durability when crafting.
2 & 3. When I first got here, I tried to enhance weapons I got from monster loot but it was a very risky venture and the results were not that great. If anyone else had luck with it then please share how you did it. I personally would save my runic tools for strictly crafting.
4. To make really good uber items you need 4 things. 1) Legendary skill, 2)Runic Tool, 3) Skill enhancing clothes and tools like +3 clothing for that skill. There are hammers for fletching and smithy that can add up to another 30 skill points. And the last thing 4) Luck of the draw. I am not talking about wearing luck clothing. I mean, just plain luck. Even with all the +3 clothing you got, some items will be good and some will be very good, and some will be excellant, especially depending on what you are hoping to get. It's random on whether it enhances stats, luck, resists, attributes or a combo of all of it.
5. To do magic jewelry with the best stats, you need to use a runic tinker tool. They come from the same place as runic smithy tools as drops from the ore elementals or certain bods.
6. I would not worry about enhancing spellbooks here. There are special spellbooks you can get from the ED stone by Trinsic bank if you want a special spellbook. I could be wrong so if anyone else knows something that I don't please share.

As far as crafting really good stuff, you need to get to legendary and have all the enhancing craft skill clothes you can get. Some vendors sell them but you'll most likely have to get them from the bods you do or hopefully befreind someone who will let you borrow them when you get ready to craft that special item. Good Luck!

Wrong. Crafted spellbooks have the best mana regen you can get in the game. I remember having one with 18(!) mana regen. Depending on what you want, a crafted spellbook can be better for you then even an omni.

Adin,
Thanks for the clarification, but does that mean the book has to be held to get those regen rates or just in your pack?

I'm always looking for complete sets, btw, so i have something to give to newbies. Does not have to be ubergear for that purpose, but something that maxes the resists and some jewellery that helps with mana regen and lrc would be nice. I'll pay well for that, and i'm sure others would, too.

Hey guys its me again, thanks to all that posted here, very nice info.
I have a doubt, i saw some people with leveleable weapons with crazy stats, to be exact i saw the Krazy G.'s Hanzo's Bow. How did he do to have such an exceptional bow out of a minor artifact? leveling weapons let you choose stats for your weapon? (never leveled anything, its a newbie question ;)).
Hope you can answer me that!
Thanks

possibly its levelled bow, or used high level runic kit and high level resource with a lot of try :)

Yep, but be careful about crafted ones and doom artifacts these ones had less ability points per level.
