Provocation Training

Saw a nice long discussion the other day about the difficulty of training provocation. In part of my own studies to find easy methods to raise skills (for the books that will be contained in the library) I have come across an extremely simple, but time consuming, method. Just going to share it here for those that don't already know of it ^_^. This is using the boat to boat method that has been around as long as provocation
. What you will need is 100 Taming (more is better for the last gap), two boats, 20 (approx) instruments (buy/make the same type! This will be important for the Razor setup), and a whole lot of time ^_^. Now that you have the materials, take your boats to your local dock (does not matter which, but less population = less chance someone will come kill your targets if you are working AFK). Set the boats in the water, move the first boat all the way against the dock so the broad side is touching, then take the second boat and move it against the broad side of the first. Make sure to drop anchor in both boats, then go get the animal you need for the gap you are on (will include after the instructions). Your best bet is to get two of the same type, just because it is easier to grab two since most spawns have at least another of the same type very close. Take the animals to the dock and get them on the boat, one on each boat. The method for getting them on there is up to you, but the absolute easiest is to unlock the gang planks and simply walk them across. Tell the creature to "Stay" then release them. Now head back to the dock yourself, stand as close to the middle of the boat as possible, and begin the macro (setup for macro described below). This method works wonderful for non-magic monsters since they can't get to each other so you can use it indefinitely. Alright, now that you are all set to start up here is the meat of the material:
Boat setup image: http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l343 ... aining.jpg
Skill sets:
0.0 - 27 (approx) Train from Male Bard in Youth Center (the female bard can't train as high)
27 - 52.4 - Use grizzly bears
52.4 - 89.6 - Use Giant Beetles (found in Solen hive)
89.6 - 94.8 - Use Hiryu (one Hiryu for the main target and a Lesser Hiryu for secondary works as well)
94.8 - 100.0 - ????????
Razor setup (if you are not familiar with Razor setups, just post your question and I will try to answer)
UseSkill Provocation
If ( SysMessage "What Instrument" )
Wait for Target
Target by Type (instrument here) <-----This is where using the same type comes in handy
End If
Wait for Target
Absolute Target <-----Main Target (attacker)
Wait for Target
Absolute Target <------Secondary Target (attacker's focus)
Pause for 11.00sec (Technically 10 seconds is only needed, but I have had numerous glitches that forced me to change to 11)
Well, that should take you to GM, if you have information on which animals to take you beyond GM using this method, add it on ^_^. Also, while using this method you can do Discordance at the same time (though the skill tolerance is slightly different, like Grizzly on goes to 48.2 Discordance) by simply adding it at the beginning of the Razor macro with a 1 second pause while putting the provo setup for Loop 10 (this gives the discordance time to fade). Hope this helps.
EDIT - Alright, I unfortunately can't continue working on this method for the time being. I have a wireless card right now for my CPU that is total crap and makes it more than a little dangerous to try and tame any high level creatures to finish out this method ><. I managed to use a drake to get to 95.5 (keeping it's health low for less-deadly firebreath against the Hiryu), but since I can't tame any stronger creatures at the time being I will leave it up to the readers of the post to find the last one necessary. Once I get the 50 feet of RJ45 I need to get running at speed again, I will update the list with the final section, until then Good luck!. (also, if you figure it out, let the other guys here know on this post ^_^)
