2nd account on same IP?

hello all. new guy here. hopefully anyway
my nephew and i are trying to join your world. he has made his account and logged in for a few minutes. he didn't have any computer time left for the day so he basically just walked around a little and killed 2 mongbats.
i've installed the game on my laptop (he uses the desktop) and patched it to version 5.0.9.1 (patch 46) from your site but when i try to log on/ create an account it says "there is a problem communicating with origin. please restart ultima online and try again." i've tried a couple different log in names and still get the same problem. i've uninstalled and re-installed the game twice with no luck. i'm running on "windows vista 64 ultimate". i've even tried to "run this program in compatibility mode for windows xp (service pack 2) but that doesn't work either
is it because we already have an account on this IP? if so how can i make an account so my nephew and i can play together?

One of the first things I learned here was how to do just what your asking since me, my husband and 2 children play here.
On the main account, basically whichever was created first type [account and it will have the option of adding accounts to your account.
As for the problem with your computer communicating with UO, I'm not sure as long as you DLed from the web sight here I would think it would run fine but maybe someone more tech savvy can help there.

Make sure you've set UO to run as administrator. Vista and 7 are finicky that way.
