Luck Armor
Luck Armor
Greetings,
I am interested in making myself a suit of armor with luck as high as I can get it. My character has tailoring at 120 and I craft my own leather variations of armor personally.
Is there any combination of leather type and runic tool type that will tend to produce higher luck peices? Should I be looking for looted armor with luck to be enhanced? (I have never had much luck enhancing)
I have never attempt to have high luck, so don't know where to begin. any help will be appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: Luck Armor
i think the best way to get luck high is to find looted leather armor with 100+ luck on it. then enhance it. you'll get to around 140 luck. there are some gear out there when put together you can get more luck. hm... armor of fortune i think has 200 luck on it already as does the weapon sword of prosperity. you can also, buy from other players excelsior sandles which has 100 luck on it too. hm... any other suggestions people?
Re: Luck Armor
What Anarchy said, but use 115 items for 155 luck. Granted, you will need 120 smithy and a lot of luck (real life luck, not in game) to enhance something without breaking it.
If you choose to get luck, be warned, you are sacrificing resists, HP, mana, HCI, DCI, LMC ,FCR and FCR to put this suit on. So have some sexy pets and a nice weapon.
Some of the best stuff is looted artis, the rest is luky shots on gear

Re: Luck Armor
for crafting, and not enhancing:
spined leather + etheral runic kit has a chance to net you up to 140 luck
etheral runic kits are pretty rare though
frost runic kits can get up to 140 as well iirc and are more common

Re: Luck Armor
For pre-made luck stuff you have armor of fortune (200), stormgrips (125) or gauntlets of nobility (125 as well IIRC) and swords of prosperity (200). There are other pieces, but nothing over 100 luck.
Crafted is basically up to 100 for frost and ethy runic kits for any type of leather other than spined which has an inherent +40 bonus (so 140 max here). With blacksmithy it's the same, exchange spined for gold.
Looted pieces with over 100 are very rare, especially if you're looking for specific slot (arms, legs, etc.) and you can forget about having nice stats on it, unless you're the guy who finds a whole field of four leaf clovers every other day. Enhancing is risky even with 120 tailoring and +gear, unfortunately there is no +tailor tool (like ancient smithy/fletching hammers) so you're stuck at having around 138 tailor at most*. Basically I'd go with crafted 140's with good stats. Even if you got 155's on all apropriate slots the change in total luck would be negligible, while other stats would take a big hit.
Oh, and no one mentioned it, but there's always the expensive option of +100 luck deeds.
*Assuming a set of 6x+3 gear pieces. Yeah, I know there are +5 as well, but I have yet to see a a full +5 tailor suit.

Re: Luck Armor
thanks for the responses everyone....you have given me much to think about.
another question I thought of was: if you are wearing luck and pets kill the target, does your luck still affect the loot generator the same as it would if you killed the target with your own weapon??
thanks!

Re: Luck Armor
Yes. Your pets share your luck. Not 100% sure about Bios, but I think they're still considered pets and any luck they have on their gear does not matter.
Re: Luck Armor
hm.. that's interesting. so if i have a bio out let's say and i sample a monster. my gear with 7600 luck and the bio's luck gear of 7200 would that make 14800? or if i went to gauntlet with a bio with combined luck of 14800?
Re: Luck Armor
Well, that would certainly create yet another use for bios, and probably some new builds. Unfortunately, in all probability it isn't as you imagine, Anarchy. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Re: Luck Armor
oh duh i thought you said does matter. not does not matter. grrrrr was tired.
