Client Crashing in Citadel

Post by Unbeliever »

I've been experiencing a lot of crashes in the Citadel when going down stairs from the Black Order Master area to the Turnkey area and when going downstairs from the Turnkey area to the empy room. I tested quite a few scenraios repeatedly and discovered it happens only when I have pets tagging along. It will happen whether they are guarding or just following. It doesn't happen every single time but it does happen often (roughly 75% of the time). Doesn't matter if I have EasyUO or any other program running or not.

I'm just wondering if this is something that other players have experienced and found a fix for (not a workaround). If so, I'd very much like to know what that fix is. :) Until I hear anything back, I'll either stick to one level at a time or shrinking all pets when hitting those stairs.

A similar issue was occuring a few months ago in certain areas due to sound. Try turning off all sound options (not just lowering the volume sliders, you want to actually disable sound in the options) and see if the issue disappears. If it does, then the GMs can add it to their bug list. Supposedly they fixed a similar issue in Bedlam, although I haven't turned sound back on yet to verify myself.

Kevan, turning off sound completely did not fix the problem. Thank you - it was an excellent idea and very easy to test. Crashed on the very first try though with sound, music, and footsteps off. It's some kind of bug alright but one that I don't think I can diagnose any further myself. Again, if anyone has any previous experience with this, please share any info. :)

If you have any easyuo/razor macro's running, have you tried stopping them and giving it a go?

I connect to Excelsior through Razor so I can't do without that. For whatever it's worth, I've crashed with no programs or macros running outside of the client itself. It's really all about the pets. Last night I tried leaving 4 pets in a corner on one level and running downstairs mounted by myself and that crashed me too, lol.
