Item Enhancing

I want to enhance looted weapons and armor with materials to try to improve the items. I am having no luck being successful with enhancing items. My crafting skills are maxed out.

Does anyone have any tips or maybe know of a guide that would be helpful?

When you say maxed out, I assume you are referring to GM level. But, even at 120 level your success rate will be very low. I only enhance smithy items because I can raise my skill to 198 and I still can fail at that level, so enhancing isn't something that most people do. The benefits you get for enhancing will not overcome the risk, especially if it is an item that you value. The only things I enhance anymore are looted armor (leather and metal) pieces that have luck of 90 or higher to raise it another 40 points. With leather and 120 skill, I lose about 75% of the items I try to enhance.

My crafting skills are at 120 and then a little higher with extras.

Just wondering if there was anything that might provided a better success ratio when upgrading armors/weapons.
