Making the perfect levelable Hanzo's Bow!

Post by amattar »

Hi All,

I am attempting to make the perfect Yumi with the information below and wanted to know what some of you thought. If it is ok, good, bad, or anything. The changes I would add, are with the '**' near them.

Ninjitsu +10
Self Repair 3
Hit Life Leech 40%
Damage Increase 50%
** Hit Lower Defense 50% **
** Dexterity Bonus 8 **
** Strength Bonus 8 **
** Mana Drain 50% **
** Hit Magic Arrow 30%**
Hit Magic Arrow 60%
Physical Damage 100%
Weapon Damage 13-17
Weapon Speed 3.25
Range 10
Strength Requirement 35

I currently have a level 99 one with the following, and it is a good weapon but not too powerful:

Ninjitsu +10
Use Best Weapon
Self Repair 3
Hit Life Leech 60%
Damage Increase 50%
Hit Magic Arrow 60%
Dexterity Bonus 8
Strength Bonus 8
Mana Drain 60%
Physical Damage 100%
Weapon Damage 13-17
Weapon Speed 3.25
Range 10
Strength Requirement 35
Two-Handed Weapon
Weapon Skill: Archery
Durability 255

Any advice is appreciated and open to making any change.
Thank you all,

Tough one. In my opinion, Hanzo's is a decent starter weapon, but not something you would stick with long term. Instead, I would try to get a 3x46 or better looted wep with a hit spell, maybe a leech (preferably mana), and Hit Lower Attack, or any combo of the three, then type change it to yumi. Might have to settle for a little something less. With a yumi, your goal is generally damage output. You have armor pierce and you want to spam it so that's why you need the mana leech. The next goal for me is maximizing hit spells and damage. Obviously I'd prefer lightning, but Fireball, Harm, Magic Arrow are ok as well (in that order). The last two things I focus on are +8 Strength (adds hps and increases damage), and Spell Damage Increase (there is no cap and it makes your spells more powerful). A lot of newer players throw +8 dex on their wep to help speed the way to 220, which is fine short term, but again will make the weapon not an end game piece and tougher to sell later on. The last thing I would comment on is the Damage Increase. Again, this is something that can be capped in other places, so I feel like it's a bit wasted on the Hanzo's. All that being said, I maxed a Hanzo's as my first wep, but if I had to do it over again, I think I would put on the 8 str, prob mana leech, 20 SDI, then spend the rest on hit spells. Good luck to you.
