When a noob reaches 21 days

Post by Marinus84 »

So, I'm about to hit the 21-day limit, which means I can't play the Newb Champ anymore. This is saddening, since I haven't got my taming up high enough yet so I can kill the Newb Champ with my maxed mules.

Been working hard to get the money together, bought some useless stuff and now found out that besides high animal lore, my taming also has to be above 80 to be able to use a mule. Now I'm working very hard every day in my daily life so I have not been able to reach everything needed for the newb champion before 21 days. Just didn't have enough time to play...

My question is, whats the next thing to do when you finally hit 21 days? I have found out some stuff like quests for armors in Mistvale, and maybe there are some other interesting areas I can visit to start when I'm 21 days?

I'm probably not such a good player considering I didn't get the chance to kill the newb champion.. I have joined a few battles with others, but every time we all died eventually.

Some of the quests seem quite doable, oh and one question about the reaper of souls, can it be made levelable, and, after that, can you relayer another item with it, without having the 6 months usage limit being transferred too?

Hello I have been playing now about two month, and no I have not been to the newbie champ. Do I think I missed anything? ...... no as there are soooo many other things you can do and not enough time in the day to do all the things. Ultima Online is very much about exploration. What i love doing is decorating my house and working up my crafting skills. But you can also explore dungeons or like myself gather seeds to grow plants, and yes getting killed by some paragon boglin.Oh and yes slowly saving up to buy your first set of little bees..........cant wait. Also there are some nice set of quests you can do if you look it up on Wiki. So the idea is chill relax maybe make some friends along the way.

Thanks :) thats what I'm doing now too, just taking it slowly. However, my secret dream is ofcourse to get myself some powerscrolls, and I heard the Newb Champ just drops nice loot for beginners..

Just got myself a house last week, when it's time to upgrade it (enlarge it) I will surely attempt beekeeping too. But for now I'm still pursuing my career as a pet-dye-fabrication-machine-with-incredibly-malfunctioning-macro's-that-only-make-it-a-tiny-bit-faster-that-also-need-constant-monitoring-so-I-could-also-just-do-it-by-hand haha ;)

I bought a few myself as it is so very easy to make gold here.Although I have done al the quest in Mistvale I still go there in hope to find some rare stealies. I found two by now. The gold I get from the monsters I save towards PS Also if you vote for the shard you get 1 ED a day which is nearly 50k in gold a day so within a week you can buy a 120 scrolls. ( you can exchange the ED for gold by just putting the eds in the blue box and then type [exe

Yeah I know, I've been looking for the yellow vote stone, but it's not there anymore... So I can't vote..?

just go to uoex.net and the 4 websites are near the bottom in the middle of the page where it says "vote for the shard". you can vote every 24 hours for 1ED

Alright, I didn't know, thanks. How does the system know I voted?

(Just killed the Newb Champ btw, turns out I'm 20 days old!)

once you vote at all 4 sites you go to town center and double click the blue stone outside the auction room.

Okay, I've been enjoying Mistvale for some time now, however, it's quite strange, sometimes the quest objects disappear after only a minute in my backpack!

Am I doing something wrong? Also, I lost quite a lot of them because I use [claim

[claim still get me Tokuno artifacts when I use it, but when I use [claim in Mistvale dungeons, it doesn't get me the quest items I need.

I tried changing my looter that I had set up for other tasks, but it doesn't pick up the Mistvale items either.

Using [claimall makes my backpack way too full in such a short time and with my poor eyesight, it takes me a lot of effort to dig through all those items that the [claimall puts into my backpack.

With Razor I have set up many agents, but the token trashbag doesn't empty quick enough.

Is there any way of setting which items the [claim command takes and doesn't take? The looters I've tried are all very slow and usually double-check bodies by accident. Besides this, it's fun to hunt enemies and gather the quest items. It's just that the organizing of these items is a bit of a problem for me, especially because I have problems seeing, and I know this is also a limitation of the UO game itself (small icons, low contrast in backpack etc).

Hope someone has some tips for me :)

Hi there -

Yes, all Mistvale quest items will decay about 1 minute after they're picked up. This is intentional and permanent. You'll need to add them to your quest book as soon as you pick them up.

Regarding [claim, the items which the command can pick up are specified in the script serverside and are not editable on the fly. It's been suggested hundreds of times but it is not something the staff wish to add, as it would drastically hurt the economy. The [claim command can only pick up its pre-selected items and does not include any items for staff-created areas/quests. Those must be looted manually or via [claimall.

Alright, thanks Nyx for your explanation :)

I have now modified a script so the loot bags are organised better, so I can find my quest items easier.

Almost have the cloak! Whieeee :woot:

Thanks for this wonderful shard everyone!
