Bod Timers

Post by Celestine »

While searching for info on bod timers, I found these notes:
( http://www.uoex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4 ) *
( http://www.uoex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25 ) **

I find this odd, that players would suggest that some wait times aren't long enough and should be doubled? There may be newer info, but I can't find it in the wiki or the forums. Anyway, here's my real question. Is there a reason why my wait for tailoring bods is so long? According to chat, the other crafting bods have been dropped to a straight two hours but my tailoring wait is 6 hours! I can get 4 carpentry bods by the time I get my second tailoring. I can even get 2 taming bods. Is this an accident or is there a reason for tailoring being slow?

This is a line from chat: I know that 120 skill, I get BS, BC, and Carpy bods every 2 hours, and taming every 3.

And off topic, but I found this interesting:

Server version 35j - March 14th, 2008- BOD for frost spider now displays the correct image.
What IS that image? A wraith?

*Mon Feb 27, 2006 11:37 am: Fletcher and carpentry bods:
These can now be gathered from fletchers/carpenters.
For both types, you can get one every 3 hours (per character), if your skill is higher than 50.1 you can get one every 4 hours, if your skill is higher than 70.1 you get one every 6 hours.

**Fri Mar 10, 2006 5:55 pm:
BOD timers change (skill depending) (in hours).
(as suggested by players)
- fletcher: from 6/2/1 to 12/6/3
- blacksmith: from 6/2/1 to 4/1.5/0.75
- tailor: from 6/2/1 to 4/1.5/0.75
- animal trainer: 3/2/1 to 6/3/2 (seems these were uber by default
Explanation: times are given in Hours A/B/C
The A stands for how long you have to wait if your skill when you recieved your last bod was 70.1 or more
The B stands for how long you have to wait if your skill when you recieved your last bod was between 70.0 and 50.1
The C stands for how long you have to wait if your skill when you recieved your last bod was less than 50.1

I do LOTS of BODs. With my Blacksmithy, Carpentry, Bowcraft, and Tailoring ALL at 120, I am able to get BODs every 2 hours or immediately after turning in a completed BOD. As for the Animal Taming BODs, It's every 3 hours or immediately after turning in a completed BOD.

Ha, the way I checked was: I'd get a bod and immediately ask for another one. The npc would tell me that it would be available in 6 hours. Now it's telling me 2 hours so I thought it had been fixed because of the thread. If you've been getting 2 hours with 120 while I was getting 6 hours with, I've now forgotten and my post doesn't mention it, I think it was about 70, it's possible that nothing was changed with the code but that my skill moved up into the 2 hour range. If so, this is even worse!

Is it possible that the timer is something like this?
skill 70-90: 6 hours
skill 90+ : 2 hours

Or did it get changed, or did the npcs just really NOT like me? It took me a while to notice the discrepancy in the timers since all my skills were at different levels. When they were high enough to even out, I started asking for another bod immediately, just to see the timers. This is how I know that the six hours wasn't just me thinking, "Still two hours? But it's already been hours."

And, yes, I know that I can actually get a bod faster by turning a bod in. However, I think there's something wrong with the tailor timer and playing with the bods won't change this.

as a side note to the big time bod collectors out there, If you have alternates with less than 30 skill, then they can get bods every hour :)
