AR rating lower?
AR rating lower?
Hello. I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. My cousin and I are both playing and recently he noticed that his AR went from 70 down to 40. Mine was at 70 for a while but last night for no reason it dropped down to 51. Neither of us can figure out why this is. Our armor has been repaired and all. Any answers would be appreciated.

Armor rating. Actually as I was playing last night I didn't notice but it has now gone back up to 70. When you die does your armor rating go down for a bit? I died twice the day my rating when went and my cousin dies all the time. LOL
Re: AR rating lower?
Only Protection or Magic Reflection causes your Physical Resistance, formerly known as Armor Rating, to be decreased. Pretty sure Protection doesn't deactivate upon death (as its supposed to) so it must have been Magic Reflection.
By the way, are you using the Razor option to show that 'old-school' status bar?

Re: AR rating lower?
When you cast Magic Reflection and Protection together you should get a +5 bump to all of your resists including Physical (AR). If you cast either one again, it will change the resists again in a different ways depending on which one was cast but physical will go down no matter. Play around by casting both spells and see how it affects your Physical as well as your other resists.

Re: AR rating lower?
100 Resists Spells will give you a base of 40 resists, (120 is 44 or 45 I think).
Other than that, only ways resists will go down is via Protection, Reactive Armor and Magic Reflect.
Each one raises/drops diff resists, was too lazy to do anything empirical... But its easy enough to tell is protection is on/off based on resisting spells (drops by 35). All three will stay on until recast. (even thru log outs it will stay on)
Protection will also drop your FC by 3, will not go negative tho.

Re: AR rating lower?
Interesting, I knew about the spells that effect resists but had no idea protection capped FC at 2. Well you gotta have the protection since high wrestling doesn't prevent interrupted spells like on osi. Sorta a pita though that it lowers your FC...
