Tonight while I was fighting Skrat, Of the Pond came up, unleasehed her pets and jumped in the battle and helped kill Skrat. She said "Nope, not there", leashed her pets back up and took off. Never once was a word said, never once asked if it was alright to join in the kill, and never once said even said thanks. I immediately pm'd the player and asked if she would have taken the drop if it was there. The response was "relax dude, its just a game. Chllz." I responded with " it may be just a game but protocol and manners still apply. Her reponse to that was, "no it doesn't."
Am I wrong to think what just happened is wrong, not right, and down right rude? I need to know, cause if the majority of you find that behaviour acceptable in this game, I guess it is time for me to go. Maybe manners means nothing to players or people any more. Maybe I am just an ancient relic who is not with the times. Have I missed something? Is it okay to act however you want in the virtual world cause its not real, it is only a game?

Those actions were rude, crude, selfish, and immature and the responses even more so in my mind. Or am I wrong? The thing is, if any of you know me, you know I would have invited anyone to join, and gave away the gold and the drop. I would have just taken the ointment. Oh well, my rant's over. Just need to know if I am looking at this all wrong.

You are not wrong at all. That is not the way this game should be played and I for one and glad to know about this person. I hope he will read this and mend his ways.

Not wrong at all and the entire reason I left WOW after 4 years of playing was because of rude little scrubs like that. I am with Firedance in wanting to know which players to avoid and hopefully a GM can step in and advise the weasels that type of play is not welcome on this server.

a. If there is more than one player at a spawn, the players must take turns. Once a player kills/tames a monster or takes/steals an item, he or she must go in the back of the line and wait for others to get their turn.

You are not wrong at all and it is disappointing to hear that a player would do that to you. The ToS is clear as day and should be enforced more. People who violate the ToS on a regular basis really have no business even playing here.

your not wrong at all. you could have paged a gm, but we all know they get busy sometimes. that's why i always have fraps running on a hot key. just in case i need to get evidence (sad that i have to do that but necessary). not only that but it's disrespectful to other players. kill stealing is bad manors, rude, and show lack of intelligence.

That is refreshing to hear Gwendolyn, thank you. I glad to see I wasn't worng. I didn't think I was but just wanted to see. As far as I am concerned, case closed for me. Back to enjoying the good parts of excelsior.

Of the pond did the same thing to me,and the reply was i have plenty and then told me thanks and ran off.I reported to the gm and got a auto reply that the will speak to this player.

To bad this isnt another shard,there would be a different outcome to this and somebody would be dead and it wouldnt be me.

I am sorry to hear this happened to you both, I wish i had enough time to scold all the naught little trouble makers. Believe me when i say that Of The Pond will get a talking to about this issue.
