this is just an idea i'm not telling the staff how to run their events. please do not mistake this as so. it's just a suggestion.

for event like the winter event. maybe should have:

you can't do the advanced level until you have completed the lower levels. (this makes it go a little bit longer; fitting for such a great item). this also allows people to chose which reward they want.

it's a progressive thing. you get the prize of the lower level but in order to proceed to a higher level you must turn in the lower level reward. if let's say you can not complete the level (let's say advanced), but want to go to a lower level they must reset their character and start over at the lowest levels (call it a penalty or whatever) *can be done: just drop the ball out of pack and it will reset your quest*.

sometimes we do stupid things out of instant gratification, like choosing the wrong levels; instead of reading the rules completely, or finding people that are more knowledge-able. but mistakes occur no matter how prepared you are *Murphy's law*.

I want cloak, but i made first Royal Hive Robe. So i can not do it :( Because i did not know rules when event starts :roll:

I did the advanced quest, and it was mad fun, but this idea is a good one. If we all had to start at the beginner level to even start the quest, turning in the rewards to advance to the next level, then it could be a grand time. I believe something to this effect would even help with the mingling of vets and new players, which is never a bad idea =]

After a little thought, maybe it would be best to just pass the ball, reward unclaimed, to advance to the next level so there's not even a need to generate the lesser rewards if someone wishes to progress past the current level.

it's not the point of some one wanting the grand prize. it makes it a little longer. :). and if an oops does occur for whatever reason there is a way out but at a price. maybe when you start over you have to get 75-100 monsters of level 1 and same from level 2 and 3. let's say someone can't complete level 3 but can level 2. he's have to start over at level 1. muwhaa. would eventually take him about 200 kills (at max 100 per level), just to get a reward he already got before. :) would be interesting to see how this would be scripted. :( this script could also be used on other quests. :)

Exactly what i was thinking :D Vets would get to have more fun on the longer hunt, and those who don't fully read/understand the rules of the quest aren't stuck with something they wouldn't have wanted, at a small cost. And, with this system, there'd be zero GM interaction with players for restarts, wrong choices, etc. thereby freeing them up to make more awesome updates/quests.
