Minotaur too much Strength???

Post by leehovan »

I'm not sure whether it is scripted this way, but i found out that minotaur's strength is a bit too much?

Even the minotaur captain doesn't have that much strength.

Here the screeny

Rayne should post an official reply, but from what i know, these monsters were mostly ment to be very hard, only able to be brought down with a group of players.

I think that the values are where they should be.

Wow, no wonder that thing 1-shotted me when I went exploring before. Didn't even have a chance to lore it when that happend.

I mentioned a similar case with the fire ruby dragon having super-breath because of its high hp, but we were able to take it down in a group, in large part thanks to fire breath only being used intermittently, so in the end that's probably not a problem. But 5k strength with 300 dex? That'll shred through even the biggest groups of perfectly-bred pets in no time, let alone squishy human players. I think for the time being, we'll have to fight those things from a distance. Archery ahoy!

You have possibly figured it out :)

Yes, some of these places/bosses are designed so that you have to think outside the box, so to speak. Pets are a valuable asset, however, sometimes I find that it is nice to realize that there are other methods of taking down a beast.

My goal is to keep things new and interesting. Not only that, but give people locations where they have to sit back and think, "Hmm, I wonder how I am going to do this." (note: Just make sure you 'sit and think' while hidden :) ) There is just something great about having to deduce and plan out an attack, rather then just having your pets take care of it on their own.

Very good point, Zodart. I remember people mentioning that the Fire Ruby Dragon was just "impossible", or that the Monstrous Interred Grizzle was "impossible" and Netopir was "impossible", yet now they have all been defeated. Who knew

Given, it did not happen immediately, but after much thought and planning, both of these creatures were brought down nicely.

So, to this post I will say:

Try it out.. think of alternative methods. But, also think about this: Maybe some creatures are meant to be a threat, not necessarily something to be challenged
